Re: sharp leading edge on racing fins

Yes, the trend in kiteracing is for sharper leading edge of the fins, I think that the goal is to achieve more speed and more control, by sharpening the leading edge you get less lift but more control at high speed. Having 3 fins kiterace boards do not have problems of spinout, so less problems than...

Re: Selection of equipment for the Olympic Kiteboarding Even

I've been in kiteracing for 4 years and before windsurfing racing for 10 years I'm totally for box rule and against one design, no way to have fun racing or training with a non performant board when you know that on the market there is something better but you can't use it. But the way the box rule ...

Re: 3 kite race quiver for comp - what do you think?

I would expect them to do extensive GPS back to back testing to come up with the best designs for the conditions they can expect at Rio, and if they have prototypes that are faster, they get 30 of each made before the Olympics. No way that this will happen, each top rider has his own brand that pus...

Re: 3 kite race quiver for comp - what do you think?

I wonder to know what do you think about restricting amount of kites for a competition. Is good or bad for kite racing future? This year we may use max 3 kites in any event. It is an unsafe rule, taking part to many races, now or later you'll be racing in a 30 knots condition and be sure that the r...

Re: Race board availability!

In Italy i've seen 4 athlets with the new North race 2012, two of them have problems with the board that drinks water from the hole of the footstraps screw and/or the finboxes, may be this a reason of the delay of the next delivery ? A part from this problem, the IKA rule about the production board ...

Re: Goods kites for 7-8 knots??

Just curious what your fin set up looks like and if the board is any good in 2 or 2 ft choppy water. Looks like you have to switch your feet when you turn, just like on a windsurfer. I don't see those boards around here so I'm kinda curious, I kite in light winds a lot. The Advance raceboard 2009 h...

Re: advance any one?

Go for it :thumb: Very good kite, I have been riding the 12 and the 8,5 since january and i am very happy of my choice. Huge wind range, direct and smooth steering, the only thing you have to be aware is that it is not a wakestyle machine, of course you can do rayley, f-16 and some passes but it is ...

Re: TKB Videocast Fri: Race Board/Fin Innovations, World Nat'ls

questions: 1) Is it better using asimmetrical fins or simmetrical ? 2) canted fins (how many degrees ?) or straight fins ? 3) Can Futurefinbox hold well 30 cm. fins ? or over 30 cm. must use Full size Tuttle ? now I use 25 cm. fins with Minituttle box, I would try bigger fins but I'm scared to break...
