2020 — Pumpy is going to pump and stump for Trump. :thumb:

P.s. not trying to start a political debate, just like how Pump rhymes with Trump.
And also funny how both are euphemisms for hot air coming out of someone’s arse (or ass)

Re: Why two regular shaped twintips?

I learnt on a big wide old lost cause board. 140x48. This is now my low wind board and can ride from 8 knts. My normal board is 135x40. Even though the lost cause is not long, it’s all about the width. Probably drops the low end of each kite by 3-4 knts. With a 17m and a big wide board there’s no ne...

Re: WOO 3: Who has received it ? You Order date ?

I had the turning off issue at 100% battery. Firmware update sorted that, but now my battery always states that it’s 100% no matter how much I’ve used it. Very annoying cos I have to remember to charge it after every session just in case.

Re: Foilers vs Kiters proportion now

A couple of years ago round here, (Cornwall, UK) it seemed that everyone was trying foils, but now there’s only a couple of guys on them regularly.
However, we do get waves more often than not so the proportion on surfboards is fairly high, but TT’s rule.

Re: Ozone access - little difference between 8 and 10?

When I was flying foils on land a 10 and 6 or 7 was the perfect combination. 8 and 10 was always too close. Rule of thumb was to miss one size between kites, so a two kite quiver would be 12 and 8 or 10 and 6.

Re: home made piss-off shampoo

Just rinse it in fresh water when you get home and leave it to dry, inside out. Never had a problem with smelly wetsuits, but then I don’t piss in my suits. However, the wife and daughter do and we just do the same rinse and don’t get smelly suits. Just make sure you turn it the right way rou...

Re: Why do I need a much bigger board AND bigger kite for a heavier rider?

Stupid question? I am only asking because lift/water resistance is proportional to square of speed and only linear with surface area, i.e. lifting force is: F = k *v*v*S where V is speed and S is surface. General rule of thumb seems to be 135x40 for 75 kg rider 150*45 for 95 kg rider, correct? Plus...

Re: Best place to learn Kite surfing in Portugal

I kites at Alvor last year. I’ve been kitesurfing for 3 yrs and can hold my own in most conditions. It was carnage. Sooooo many people learning to kite, so lots of them were just stood watching for quite some time, kites hitting the water all the time and when they did get up and riding they quickly...

Re: Ocean Rodeo Mako vs Nomad Wave TT

I’d check the Liquid Force hippy stick line as well.
I’ve just had a Moon Patrol. Only had one short session so far but very impressed. Rides the same both ways and whilst I’m no expert at toeside, I did my best toeside ride and carve ever.
Plus they are much cheaper than the Mako or Nomad.

Liquid Force solo wind range

I’m thinking of thinning out my quiver. I currently ride 17m strutless, 13, 10.5 and 7m kites. The 17 has a very limited wind range from about 8 knots to 13, I then got to the 13. I tried a 15.5 solo the other day, (only static though, so not a true test) and it seemed to pull well in about 10 knots...
