Re: Zeeko Spitfire Hydrofoil

do WLX wings feel noticeably draggier? The other day I tried a big wing foil just to see if it would improve my low end as the wind was not enough for me to get required speed for take off on my Spitfire. The foil did foil up at lower speed but was creating so much drag I could not ride anyway. Tha...

Re: Zeeko Spitfire Hydrofoil

Rode the xlw wings yesterday in about 10 to 12 knots increasing to 12 to 14 with a 10 m wave kite. Had so much fun..turns short period wind swell into a hydrofoil skatepark ready to be sliced and diced... With the regular wings at 220 lbs (100kg) I needed to go pretty fast to stay flying so needed s...

Gopro video stabilzation

this product works ok: http://steadxp.com/ Not perfect but pretty good. Still requires some manual key-frame rotation corrections every 5 t0 10 s or so depending how aggressive the kite is turning, but way better than doing all the correction manually. Here is an example: http://www.youtube.com/watc...

Re: Zeeko Spitfire Hydrofoil

and clearly not only for light wind!

Looks like the chord on the back wing got a bit bigger but span is roughly similar.

The front wing looks considerably bigger which hopefully will make it less sensitive to getting a bit too much pressure on the front and pushing it down

Re: Zeeko Spitfire Hydrofoil

I've been riding it as my go-to foil since it came out, and due to a warm winter on Cape Cod and a trip to DR have about 15-20 sessions on it. I don't think it a super niche product as works really well for carving up swell and bay chop, not just true wave riding. Here we have ~ 1 m, 4-6 s bay chop ...

Look at revl or steadxp.

Steadxp is shipping soon and looks pretty good. Not kiting, but wow:

Re: Zeeko Spitfire Hydrofoil

To me what will be very interesting is the other canard designs that this will inspire. Based on what I felt in my first session, from my intermediate level perspective, I probably wouldn't recommend it as a first foil to learn on. At least not for someone my weight at 100kg, but many of the charact...

Re: Zeeko Spitfire Hydrofoil

Just after watching Gunnar's video this AM the fedex man knocked on my office door and delivered a package from zeeko with a shiny new spitfire in it! Then despite the forecast for no wind around 1 pm the wind meter was up to 10-15 so time to take the afternoon off work and play with the new toy. I ...

Re: Three or two straps for freeride?

Got this board for travel to switch between foiling and kite powered surfing http://www.axiskiteboarding.com/product/axis-maroro-59-foilboard-convertible-2/#.WFFasvkrLuo Tried it in some small waves without a foil the other day and feels like it will be a nice light medium wind surf board for me at ...
