All last year I was riding 12m lines on my 5m & 7m Fuels, and 17m lines on my 11m & 15m Fuels. I love short lines on "C" kites, but when I switched to Turbo Diesels last Fall, I found that the short lines don't work very well. Bow kites really stall out when they are over-sheeted, and to get a good ...

they bend if the spreader bar is not fully in the hook, ive had it happen a couple of times, This is correct. I've had it happen during a toe-side bottom turn heading up to the lip at Newport. Very unpleasant. I can slip on my harness without uncliping the spreaderbar, so I use a vise to squish the...

I really like innovative launching ideas, but don't try this launching technique in gusty or turbulent conditions! I tried it today with a Turbo Diesel. I tied a snap-shackle to a wooden piling (very imovable object) and tried this launch method. I had a feeling that the other pilings would cause to...

To change the topic a little, can any of you guys manage to carve a skimboard like you can a surfboard? I've been getting my arse grazed and toes blistered on one of these puppies recently (definitley a lot of fun) but no-one else around here seems to be riding one so I've got no-one to gauge off. ...

I almost always ride a skimboard these days. It's been a while since I've had a session on my wakeboard with bindings. Yes, the skimboard does extend the low end, and a TT extends the top end. But the comparison I was making was that a skimboard and 10m Turbo had essentially the same low end as a sk...

I've owned Fuels for years, and I've ridden the Turbos, and my 10m Turbo Diesel has essentially as much wind range as 7m, 9m, 11m & 13m 2005 Fuels. It's no exageration to say that the Turbos have the range of 3 or 4 traditional C-kites. Some people might argue that the Turbos are beginner/intermedia...

The Turbo Diesel has a bar with a really cool easily adjustable stopper ball that everyone loves. I've been riding some of the Turbo Diesels, and they are amazing. I'm very unusual with kite bars, though, so I've made my own bar without the 1:2 pulleys, that works great for me. I'll paste in a post ...

sensible thing to do would be to release an updated bar, everyone knows the bars are to complex. It's possible to fly any of these bow kites with a simple bar without the pulleys. This requires a longer bar, and longer arms. If you have resonably long arms and/or use a seat harness with a low attac...

I've ridden the 10m Slingshot Turbo Diesel Bow kite in the Gorge on 17m lines, and I loved it. Haven't had any good wind at the coast in a while, so I can't comment on the short lines in the surf, but I'm sure it will be great. If we get any good wind and waves on the Oregon Coast, I'll be sure to g...
