Re: Gaastra Race Gear 2013

Jet is a dedicated race kite. The bigger jekylls were..well. just big jekylls... The Jet has a even more effective Proj.Area. Jet has been stripped of onepump and alot of dacron to save weight, even the backlines on the bar are less thick to minimise drag. Thekiteboardermag tested it as "Pros: Amazi...

Re: Red on left side

http://www.surf-store.com/gaastra-x-4-line-bar-2013/ I found this bar, in my opinion, poor color swatch design. Green highlights and white bar looks great like the new Epic bar and some Cabrinha bars, but I would have kept the left side white with a red L mark and the right side the black side with...

Re: How accurate are board sizes?

2005boards most likely would still have thicker rail then a 2007. Anyway, what matters when choosing boards is your weight, what kind of water u ride and in how mucht wind. Chop/waves require a different board than flats. especially severe choppy conditions ask for different characteristics. So anyw...

I can also vow for Pro-limits quality. I've used 2 harnesses in 6 years! But now I have a Naish, better fit, not in my possesion long enough to say anything usefull about the quality. Not a huge fan of Mystic, they have problems getting quality every year, sone yars are good, some years are AWEFULL....

Re: gaastra jekyll 2009 vs gaastra jekyll 2010

hi windmanu, i can't compare directly j2009 and j2010, but i had jekylls '08 and i have j2010 14m, and from what i heard j'08 and j'09 are practically the same (besides color schemes). so, as much as i can say jekyll'10 has little bit lower wing profile, less projected area and as result a little b...

Re: Tips needed for staying upwind in gusty choppy condition

in order to go upwind more in choppy conditions, you wll need a better suited board. I use a Gaastra Vane 2011(used to be Gaastra Vision Pro in 2008-2010). Round outline, flat on the centre(length-wise), rocker on the outline(=concave) concave+a bit flex in the tips, a fast planing and sailing board...
