Oahu, Mokes in March, April?

I wonder what the wind is like in spring time on Oahu, especially Mokes, since I will be there for waves (strapless) ...I have heard Mokes works best in summer thermal conditions, how consistent is spring ? Average wind speed? 50 % of month or more? How is Mokes in comparsion to Maui at this time of...

Re: Wainman Gambler 5.7 - Cabrinha Skillit 5.6?

Thanks Cooch, Have you tried it already? (Sounds a little bit like general marketing information :-) The width seems pretty maxed out - how does it work in mid sized surf? Weightwise - in comparison to the other WH boards heavier ... Is the 5.10 the "light wind tanker"?
Anybody ridden one of them?

Rawson 6er vs Skate 2010

Anbody riding the LF 6er and has tryed the skate too? I love may LF 6.0 quad, mostly straples in small to medium waves, looking for something that works in bigger waves ones too and strapped , thought of getting the skate 5.10, also due to the options of the fin set up, but the 6er might be maybe an...

Re: kiting with a knee replacement?

Tucker, kruzlifix has a point with stating that the younger you get a total joint replacement the more often you might have to get a "revision" which makes thinks more complicated. For over 10 yrs now, according to the doctors, I need a total hip replacement and could postpone it especially due to "...

Re: Do all North 2010 kites have a nose line

Before SS came up with their new release system, I bought an North iron heart (on sale) with the dyneema rope and cleat and had the depower above the bar and a release system I was used to. (which was my main intent) It is only a 1 line depower rope - did tons of kiteloops with it - no issues so far...

Re: Slingshot RPM

"...According to what I see in the picture below, the 10m comes with 17" bar with 20m lines. But why 20m and not 23m lines ?????".. The difference in low end is marginal and kite loops are much more fun - better for waves too, imo. Great that SS finally offers shorter lines, at least for the smaller...

Re: Liquid Force Quad 6'0 or 6'2

I ride the LF quad 6.0 (86kg) mostly unstrapped - I don't feel that I need anything bigger (the bigger the easier to paddle!)- the quads excell in onhsore conditions but work fine in side shore too, the skate excells in sideshore and hollower waves imho - both are great boards - in addition to the u...

Re: Wainman Surfboards?

Thanks Peter, yep Future fins and FCS are top imo 2 ... guess the bigger sizes are nice to paddle also - PS: Quads are not so bad in certain conditions, if you get used to the feeling, upwind abilites are mostly better too, but I agree it feels different from the thruster, which is hard to beat :-) ...

Re: Wainman Surfboards?

Are they lighter than lets eg brands like Naish etc. or pretty much the same weight? Possible to jump? - or not recommended for jumping like eg. a LF Rawson? How does the 5.8 wide perform strapless? Surface looks very nice, does it scratch easily? Satisfied with the fin system?
Thanks!
