Re: What are the wekknesses of each kite brand

My 2c (mostly trivial rather than deal breakers): Slingshot trim cleats are prone to stick Dakine harness handlepass leash slider prone to unsplicing North kitelines are hard to untangle (too sticky) Slingshot kitebag zips are very easy to catch kite material and put small tears in it when you do th...

Re: Extra wide ankle straps?

I sewed (well got my friendly clothing alterations lady to) my non-elastic straps to my wetsuit with sail thread. They never slip down and one less thing to forget when loading up.

Not helping the OP, I know - but never had a problem with thinner straps.

Re: Drone

This is kind of like asking which is the best kite... I am a kiter that got into multirotors after seeing the footage that is possible. TBS Discovery is good, but also check Flying Cinema's Cinetank. The Cinetank is very impressive and creates great results. It is not a simple hobby tho... I have b...

Dice on a slingshot bar

I currently ride a 12 and 8m Dice on the North Trust 4 line bar. For kitetrips I want to take a second set of bar and lines in case of breakage or to have my wife on the 8 while I am on the 12. I have a 4 line slingshot bar in good condition. Are there any problems flying a Dice on it? The main conc...

Re: Drone

I'm looking into this as a hobby, and then maybe into a side business for aerial photography for real estate, etc. I have a background with R/C cars and a bit with trucks, but that was 15 years ago, so I'm guessing while the general equipment is similar (Electronic speed controls, accelromators, et...

Re: Drone

The Phantom Vision plus is widely seen as the best ready to fly (RTF) prosumer drone currently available. But I wouldn't take it over water in 25kts. Its top airspeed is circa 30 knots which only gives you around 5 knots headway against the wind (assuming no gusts). That is sketchy and you will prob...

Re: kitesurfing holiday january 2013

Don't come to Australia - it's freezing, no wind and nobody here speaks English. Especially bad in WA but also useless in VIC, NSW or South QLD. On a more serious note, Jan in Aus is pretty good. Don't go too far North (too hot, and a slight hassle of salties and stingers). WA wind usually cra...

Re: water TT kiteskiis - how real is this?

Why not get a mate and do both twin tip and waterski at the same time?

Or else get rid of the kite altogether and just stick with the skis?
