Re: Limit of height jumping

There's obviously a limit. It's just less controlled than running. The history of kite jumping is limited. You may hit a hot air bubble an be flown away. I think errors like that must be excluded. "Normal" gusts on the other hand is countable. In two years we've reached close to 27 m. In 10 years my...

Limit of height jumping

Woo. World record is noe 26,8 m. I Wonder about the limits and the body of the premium booster. The depower rate of the kite should matter. So sould wind and waves. But what is the limit, the highest theoretical jump. Given optimal conditions?

Re: Kite Specific Snowboards?

Agree that sidecut and width is essential. In my environment splitboards is a need there are even less options as real bidirectional is a must. I'm riding a Voile palindrome, and am sorry that I didn't go for the widest and a little longer. But it's working.

Gopro Karma grip kite mount?

I´ve got a Gopro Karma grip with Hero5BE. After a few tests it seems to work well for making floating races through the snow in bad conditions. https://vimeo.com/197202375 Has anyone tried out mounting a gopro central on LE with success or failure? It´s a cheap and secure alternative to a drone. I´m...

Downhill backwind

This is not a fancy music video of spectacular moves, but an everyday show of different skills in downhill kiting with backwind. This setting is not easy as you need to understand that the wind cannot help you. You have to make your own wind by moving faster than the wind and thereby produce power i...

Re: woo woo not wow

The last column gives the time in the session for each jump and it makes it possible to identify each jump on a video (if the spot isn´t to crowded) Here a screenshot of a bad wind session...

Re: woo woo not wow

Saturday we are promised 10m/s wind from south and red temperatures so it´s hope for a beach mounted gopro. Time for jumps are read in the left column in the app. I shall do a test and post it if we don´t have anything better in beforehand. (and if the forecast is ok.) My best is 10.1 m and I believ...

Re: woo woo not wow

Hard guessing with no geometric lines and defined points as reference. Point of view is critical. So is angle of lense used. Wide angles can make every jump look extreme. Background data is, as said, important to know for an accurate calculation. 5 meters can look like 25 and otherwise. Optic lies a...

Re: woo woo not wow

I´ve tested with a gopro fixed on the beach. The time given in the app matches ca 90% of the jumps on the video. Some jumps are missed for sure, but the measures from the woo looks meaningful. Random numbers are far less meaningful.
