Re: Which size for my smallest kite (5 or 6m)?

5m 7m 11m c-style work well for me... I don't seem to need a 9m but I bet it would work nice. The 5m to 7m seems like a small jump in size but it's not... seems to be good for me... plenty of diff... I max out quick with these kites tho. I would think 2m spread is the minimum spread unless you have ...

Re: I Give You… The Chubby Girl! Under A $100 To Build!

We built this in 2008... 2nd season of kiting... wanted to go in light winds. It works... no fins. We built two of them cause the first one worked so well. It's roughly 50cm by 165. No fins... goes upwind real easy. It satisfied the light wind craze we had starting out. I haven't used it much since ...

This subject started in "What's the best twintip board for wave riding...?" thread. "Nico wrote: TT get no priority whatsoever in the waves at our home spot. Re: Surf board with round nose

I rounded my board... had the nastiest point. Took a paint can, pencil and scribed a nice half circle, took a jigsaw and rounded it, filled in with epoxy putty, sanded, painted and no more nasty point  Did the same thing with a couple of my windsurf boards. That's drastic but I'm quite happy wi...

Re: Kite scooter could outpace raceboards: Prototype video

Your frank reply leaves me absolutely speechless  , which doesn't matter much, I suppose, as I seemingly anyway wouldn't have stood any chances to convince you of the ingenuity :o of my invention. At least you haven't been left indifferent, which would have been even worse :) I get the ingenui...

Re: Kite scooter could outpace raceboards: Prototype video

Main reason for this, I suppose, is a steep learning curve and it being physically and mentally exhausting, at least for beginners. In the following video I am presenting a prototype of a kite scooter with a heel free rigging system, which could be operated almost instantly and effortlessly by any ...

Re: Should i Fix it or not?

by contrast if you have a brand new kite, like a 2012 or 2011 it's well worth putting hundreds of dollars into repairing it pick up a tube of 3m 5200 fast cure for $15 it can do a few hundred valve repairs, boil some water, peel off all the valves on the kite I can't imagine sinking hundreds of dol...

Re: Should i Fix it or not?

I wouldn't pay anyone any money to have it fixed and I hope you didn't pay anything for that stuff... should've been free to you I hope. I would never replace bladders in an old kite... I would patch them though  If you're a fixer up type personality then go fix it. I would do that just for the...

Re: what kind of paint should I use for a saltwater board?

it doesn't matter. just put a layer of resin over top and you can use what ever you like. I used water based test pots for one of my repaints If you put layer of epoxy resin on top then your board will yellow real quick. Maybe polyester resin might do ok on the top. Epoxy based resin.needs to have ...
