Re: Introducing the Ocean Rodeo Crave A-Series

I am an intermediate kiter and I have both these kites in ALUULA construction. I kite on lake Champlain so no real waves but we can get some fun swells in the 3-4 range of it's 8M wind. I ride strapless SB and I strapless foil. In comparison the Roam has much better drift, but I do not find it very ...

Re: OR please put inserts in the jester

I agree with how amazing this board is and putting inserts back. I was disappointed when I upgraded to the new model last year and it didn't have inserts. So nice to have the option if you want.

Re: Aluula Aeris: an even lighter Aluula

Let me guess. The new material is less expensive too? Not sure if this is sarcasm. I'd love for it to be less expensive but the pessimistic side of me believes even if it was, any significant savings would not trickle down to the consumer Full disclosure as you won't find a bigger OR fanboy than me...

Re: We need to talk about this: Pocket Foiling

Upon closer inspection, I think you are right that the board is floating him pretty well. Maybe around 90L? I have no DW SUPfoil experience, but I have a feeling that the new design DW boards would get you up on foil sooner Are you sure? I think that board floats that dude without much trouble. the ...

Re: We need to talk about this: Pocket Foiling

the tiny single skin would only works when there is shitloads of wind, like in this video. For real life conditions you need more sail and/or longer lines, etc... All coming with consequences in usability Fun experiment though It appears he is on a small wingboard of maybe 60L which is likely why h...

Re: Or jester fans

I love my original Jester. I work on strapless freestyle at a beginning level and can occasionally land small strapless airs. Excellent at going upwind and while it doesn't completely tame the lake chop conditions I ride in, it's better at smoothing things out better than any other board I have trie...

Re: Winging is half-assed kite foiling - discuss

My opinion is based on limited experience of 12 sessions. I agree on a lot of the negatives and believe it will be a niche for me eventually. Most disappointing has been the fact that it takes more wind than I thought it would. I never have issues staying upwind in marginal conditions when kitefoili...

Re: anyone used this stick on foilmount? in real life.

I also began foiling with the foilmount. I put it on a nearly 20 year old little fat bastard. I don't know anything about the construction but it has worked for me with no issues for 3 seasons. I have run it aground many times (at least 15 - 20 times) as I foil in a shallow location. I prepped it ve...

Re: Learning to foil strapless from a surfing background

But will give you a lot more trouble initially most likely, as you can NOT start like on a strapless surfboard (using a kite), I'm perplexed as this is not the first time I have seen someone saying this, but I start foiling the same way I start with a strapless surfboard. I believe someone said in ...
