Re: Which Bar and Lines

Slingshot uses all white lines.

1. Very aggravating when untangling.
2. Invisible on snow.
3. Swivels were maintained but still failed (all three).

The good.....
Safety works well.
Depower works.
OS handles are there.
Stopper holds.

Lines of white

Recently, a very fun wave session ended with a classic shitshow. Nothing unusual. Just dropped my kite, deployed the safety, wrapped/wadded it up, walked back to the launch. As I untangled the lines, I paused and said to myself.... "To hell with the nice person who decided it was acceptable to desig...

Re: Ideas for shorter stroke on bar

The only way possible for shorter throw to achieve the same amount of kite depower as full length throw (without using the actual depower) is.... - Use a 2:1 bar There are a few ways to get the bar closer to the rider, but throw remains the same.... - Smaller Chicken Loop - Seat harness - some brand...

Re: Ideas for shorter stroke on bar

What about tuning a 2:1 pulley bar for your kite?

LF and Slingshot had them with below-the-bar depower in '06-'08.

Pro's
Twice as much power dump for every inch of throw.
Cheap.
Available.

Con's
Not the best feel.
higher bar pressure.

Re: Vintage kites that are still relevant

These have already been mentioned...... Waroo '06 made kiting so much easier. I borrowed one when my c kite blew on vacation. My pal still seeks out Vegas '06. A crew of locals all pushed it more on Cabrinha Crossbows '05-'06 What was the "quantum leap" in this era? - Depower. My personal favorite k...

Re: Liquid force havoc 2007

The '07 is difficult to fly (12m anyway)
Never keep it at the zenith. It can surge forward and overfly.
Steering isn't great when depowered.
Safety is antiquated.

Sorry man. I just don't want you to get hurt.

Re: The Surf 5/8/12 (4G)

Windsuks, Very good review. Thanks. Soul19, I love a wave kite on the snow, especially for snowboard downwinders or terrain. Dimitri and Momi made the Kima while at Eclipse. That was such a sweet wave kite. Was it the first 3 strut Delta? I think so. Ahead of its time. Have they done it again?

Re: camping roadtrip in Baja

Wow. Thanks for this information guys!
I will look at this information pretty closely. If I were alone I would take more risks. I am taking my girlfriend and feel the need to make safe choices.
Maybe I can figure out a cheap way to get to one of these camps.

Merry Christmas!
