Re: Garmin Fenix

I just keep mine in bike mode. I downloaded a sailing app (on one of the rare occasions when my watch actually synced), but it was practically unusable, really small text and unstable also.

Re: Garmin Fenix

I have a Fenix 2, and after about 6 months of ownership I have mixed feelings about it. I have had issues from day one with it not syncing to my pc, the menu interface is a bit clunky (lots of button presses to get where you want to be sometimes) and the screen visibility sucks in low light. I mean ...

Hey Pumpy, you're slacking, dude. There's another thread (12m kite for foile and boosting) where guys are saying good things about foil kites. You had better head over there soonest and set them straight!

Re: My first LW session with the Flysurfer Speed 5 dlx+ 12

I've owned both lei's and foils, and for me a foil would be my go-to kite when the wind is light, not only because of their behavior, but also because of their easy relaunch. The best kite in the world in the air is worthless if you can't get it off the water. I have experienced problems relaunching...

Re: Wizard at work? Psycho 5?

Good to see Armin flies coach! I've almost convinced myself to buy an S5 12m, and I'd hate to think of some of my money going towards unnecessary luxury

Re: Flysurfer Speed 5 vs speed 4 and backstall.

Windrider1, you don't need wind to check your line lengths, test them with your lines detached from the kite and tied off to a single fixed point. With the depower strap set to full power and the bar pulled all the way in, all four lines should be the same length, with equal tension on all 4. This s...

Re: Flysurfer Speed 5 vs speed 4 and backstall.

A simple test (and you probably have tried this already), check your line lengths. I once had this happen to me with a Psycho 4 out of the box, and when I checked the line lengths the fronts needed to be adjusted by almost 200mm. Since then that is always the first thing I do when I unpack a new kit...

Re: Rebel Inversion Inside the Y

I did a year or two with Bandit Dos's, they had a high Y configuration. If the kite got rolled/hindenburged/whatever and fell through the lines, it would launch fully powered up because of the now shortened steering lines. Even releasing to safety didn't help much. Put the high Y feature, along with...

Re: Ocean Rodeo direct from Amazon.co.uk

@Corbett-I know, not even me! I'm not in the market for anything new, I've got two switch Nitro5's waiting for me at the Mahe Post Office! Despite the fact that it out of our windy season now, I can't wait to get my grubby little hands on them!
