Re: Ozone Chrono V3

My ideal range for the 7m Hyperlink on 23m lines is 14-18kts but use from 12-22ish. Launching and has never been an issue. Reverse landing in the 18knot plus is more challenging and commitment required. There is always the QR if too sketchy.

Re: Cabrinha Revolver (remember?) bar compatibility

The 2008 Cabrinha Revolver I think had the option for going 1:1 or 2:1 (in pulley bar mode). My preference was the 1:1 bar setup. Saying that the Ozone bar/lines setup should work just fine. The pigtails will need to be reversed if using an Ozone line setup, which is simple to do. Replacing the pull...

Re: which kite to complement Ozone Hyperlink 12m and Ozone Chrono V2 UL 18m

Turbaani, no worries... I would definitely put the HL in the UL into the options as well such as the 12m. I have used the 7m HL a little bit and have been very impressed with how forgiving and stable it is. I have not tested the water relaunch but reports seem very positive in this area. The Chrono ...

Re: which kite to complement Ozone Hyperlink 12m and Ozone Chrono V2 UL 18m

Hi Turbaani, I do really like the Chrono V2 15 UL.. I think having this kite in the UL material is needed to push the super lowend when riding a foilboard at my weight and foils used. I felt the UL material in the Chrono allowed for a bit more stability when pushing the lowend when compared to a 11m...

Re: which kite to complement Ozone Hyperlink 12m and Ozone Chrono V2 UL 18m

Will... i think fitting another kite in between your HL 12 and Chrono v2 18 UL might be a bit of an overkill as your setup seems awesome. I use the 15m Chrono v2 UL at 68kg, when conditions are super light and understand your concern of dropping the kites and being forced to do a self rescue. The UL...

Re: Ozone Hyperlink 5m

I havent used the Ozone Hyperlink 5m but i have used the 7m for foiling only handful of times. Last session felt really light with winds dropping to 8-11knots estimate by end of session. I would say 12 knots using 23m lines, at 150lbs and freeride foil is the comfortable starting point for me but po...

Re: Could someone please invent a better way to self land a kite in high wind.

.... see link which shows how effortless it was to land an IDS SB. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ia-CmjKvUAI . That is not self landing. That's releasing to the safety. If your starting point is releasing to safety then you've used up all your options from the start. You have no fallback position...

Re: Could someone please invent a better way to self land a kite in high wind.

The IDS was good but had a serious flaw. The kite would not always roll onto its back like it was supposed to. If the kite was flagged in strong wind and would not roll onto its back it still had a lot of pull. The trick was to swim towards kite to release tension or pull in center lines then relea...

Re: Could someone please invent a better way to self land a kite in high wind.

The best self land/self rescue system I ever used was the Cabrinha IDS system 2009-2013 (when using the Switchblade). This system was amaysing as one could hit the QR in any conditions and the kite would be out cold with the leading edge down and the kite facing you). Because the kite would face yo...
