Re: Naish below the line depower with Ride Kite 12m

If you are yanking the depower with both hands then it suggests the friction on the cleat may be excessive, or perhaps the depower rope is worn and is overly stuck in the cleat, you might look at replacing the depower rope. The pull technique needs to be with the rope flat to the cleat, not up and o...

Re: Naish below the line depower with Ride Kite 12m

If you have the presence of mind to simultaneously push the bar away from you, and slightly release the edge pressure at the same time you make the trim adjustment then the momentarily reduced load on the front lines may make your task easier. If you are still learning however it'll be tough, good l...

Question for Best TS owners

I'm looking at buying a NOS Best TS 2014-5 , it's a 4 line low Y setup but I cannot determine wether the mini 5th flags to one or both of the front lines. I'd want to use an low Y, single front line setup for the kite. Can some one who owns one of these kites please enlighten me. Many Thanks .

Re: Controller 3 Switch bar

I have a Controller 3, It is well priced, its basic function is ok, the lines are of good quality. It is however a heavy setup and some people have had issues with the way the bar flags out ....... suggest you take a good look at the switch forum threads on that particular bar. I haven't used any ot...

Re: next kites to consider?

I'll leave commenting on the specific kites you mention to others but.... Bar reach is something better dealt with now than in 2011 I believe. North, Core , Best (and an increasing number of other brands) have sliding cam cleat systems on the centre lines which can be adjusted to suit those with sho...

Re: Did your wife's view on kite things change when she became a kiter too?

My better half took a long time to become a kitesurfer, she loves snowkiting however. She dislikes crowds and super flat water (has a good board for chop) but has always liked little waves. When I started riding strapless directionals she was instantly interested (I was pleasantly surprised) , now m...

Re: Ocean Rodeo stick shift bar

I'd wondered about that too, I rather suspect that since it's a click system then it'll be something you get used to very quickly, I'd imagine newbies would be taught not to look but just do it by feel. (like Index versus Friction shifting on a bicycle - showing my age here -. The concept looks real...

Re: Ocean Rodeo stick shift bar

Looks most interesting... I'd love to be able to say I "drive a stick" again. 2 questions when you have half a mo' please.
1, High or Low Y ?
2. Safety line runs inside the centre PU tube ?
