Re: Line length advice needed for 15m R1V1 on foilboard

Yeah, I had the same experience. Took a while to get used to the shorter lines. First time I tried 17m lines, it felt way too short, but now used to 15m lines and planning to go shorter on my next bar. I think a 15m set of lines with extensions to get whatever length you want should work well. Not s...

Re: Buoy for race training

Thanks for the ideas! Those big orange bumpers are nice, but pricey. I got a big beach ball and tied up some lines and an anchor to it, but never wound up using it because didn't think I'd be able to kite out with it. I like the idea of a flag on a small buoy. I can go put it out on a clam day with ...

Buoy for race training

Anyone have a good way to drop a buoy for race training when you don't have a boat? Mainly I want to practice hitting laylines. There aren't any buoys in convenient spots. They're all either part of a busy channel or too far offshore. It has to be fairly large so that it can be seen from several hun...

I think the 2017 moses race foil was abit of a flop
I didn't think they were that competitive, but the two guys I talked too were very happy with them. One was doing much better on the Comet compared to the same fleet from last year. Can't remember what gear he was on last year though.

Curved wings have better .... roll stability.

you sure ?
No :)

That's what I've heard though from people who (seem to) know what they're talking about. I agree, roll stability from curved wings doesn't make intuitive sense to me but others seem convinced.

What do you think?

Re: Wheeler Wonder?

I think he was making aftermarket wings for the LF foil. Now Liquid force is making his design as the LF thruster. Flat isn't bad. Curved wings have better yaw and roll stability. It also allows you to roll more before breaching surface. Flat wings don't ventilate as severely when the wingtip breech...

Re: Enata Foil reviews?

I didn't realize until recently, the Ghost Whisperer 111 with GW600 wing is a Moses Comet with different decals. It is a smaller wing for sure. I talked to two guys who have ridden the Comet/GhostW back to back with the Delta. One said he thought the comet was more stable at speed. The other guy sai...

For start they could offer the Duke and the Jester with mounting holes or tracks for the foil attachment...
Has anyone put a plate foil on a Duke or Jester? I was wondering if there is too much curvature. Do you need some kind of adapter?

Re: -ing gear for the lightest of the winds

Not exactly sure what the difference is with shorter lines, but you can definitely feel the difference. It's only a benefit when riding with power. I now ride about the same sizes I'd ride to be powered on a twintip (15m up to 16 kts, 11m up to low 20s). The benefit that I feel from the shorter line...
