Re: Lightest Wind Options

For me, winging in wind <12 knots is just not as fun as kiting in light winds. The wing is inefficient, and pumping up onto foil is such a pain. I don't mind a big wing, but big foils are no fun for me. Now that I'm on smaller faster foils, the big foil feels too draggy. I usually choose winging ove...

Re: How to protect hands in cold water when winging

What was working for me back then were neoprene mittens with open palms. That means that the grip on the boom/handles is mostly unaffected, and the only purpose of the glove is to protect the fingers from the wind chill, which is typically the main factor. Looks like Prolimit and Ion are producing ...

Re: Second Wing - Light Wind 8m

I had the strike 6m for a year and just got a dlab 6.5m. Haven't tried them back to back yet, so can't give a definitive comparison on low end. They fly very differently. Dlab feels super light, goes upwind way better. I think the strike luffs better when surfing, but for this large size I'm not rea...

I would definitely like to see reviews for these big wings before purchasing.

Re: Wing harness - post yours

I bought the Forward Wip wing belt. Simple and light weight. Generally happy with it although the square shape of the section that the belt slides through often catches the harness line and deflects it out and away from the hook when trying to hook in. I've had the same issue with the forward wip b...

Re: Harness for winging

What about these https://www.forward-wip.com/produit/wing-harness/?v=6cc98ba2045f ? I just got one of these. Tried it for the first time today. It was my first time using a harness, so can't really compare to others. Trying to power upwind with 6m Strike, it was a little harsh on my back. I think I...

Re: why put the bottom handle near the end of the board?

The balance point depends on how heavy the foil is, and where the foil is in the tracks. Should be somewhere aft of middle of the board, but probably difficult to determine a point that would work with all foils. Mine does go nose down a bit, but I think this is better than the alternative. I carry ...

Depending on your mast, you may be able to use washers with flat head bolts.
Yeah, it's an axis mast, so has holes and slots. Using the holes with washers for now, but would like to use the slots for easier removal.

Re: M8 baseplate with M6 bolts

Yes, There is a perfect solution for this. Moses M6 way-through nuts. They fit perfectly to M8 plate. I wasn't able to find a way-through nut on the hardware section of the Sabfoil site. I did see these: https://sabfoil.com/en/products/washer-adapter-m8-m6 This seems like what I need! Weird that it...
