Re: Advice from an older married kiter to a young one

My advice is based on an old song. "If you want to be happy for the rest of your life, never make a pretty woman your wife. If you want my personal point of view, get an ugly girl to marry you." :D No way - I married a gorgeous woman who looks great in a bikini and is happy to lay on the beach whil...

Aruba is an amazingly windy place but Sep-Nov is off season, but still > 50%. It is also not really a wave place so neither lefts nor rights, at least not down the line clean point/reef breaks.

Re: Strappless or Strapped for Learning to Foil ??

My first session was with straps and my ankles were hurting bad after. After that I went with hooks and have been very happy. I usually ride surf boards strapless but was happy to have a little extra control of the hooks as a new foiler. https://northshoreinc.com/store/pc/view ... roduct=425

Re: Naish Bar with Cabrinha Kites?

agree on adapters. naish steering lines can be either pig tail or knot so that is flexible. just be careful about length as you use adapters. I remember once needing adapters only on only 2 of 4 lines and thinking I would always remember to use a different knot setting to counter the adapter length,...

Re: Where is good spot to learn wave kitesurfing?

great advice above. I would add that there is no need to get on the next plane to a wave spot. Homework first ... you can buy a strapless directional board, learn to carve, learn to jibe, get better toe-side, make series of S turns, ... All of that can be done anywhere. when you do travel, it is gre...

Re: Expanding my quiver with Fuels

My last fuel demo was 2015, and I owned them up to 2010, so here is some 'dated' advice... This is a very specialized kite. The only people who should buy them are people who complain that their current kite loops are not powerful enough or wakestyle. I never backlooped one as even the down loop was...

the place you're looking for does not exist. Otherwise, I would be there. :)

Check out Mancora, Peru and the beaches south of there.

Re: old fart round the world tour

I agree with Hugh2. I think places to develop will be impactful. RadDrDuke suggested foiling - also a great idea. skill goals would help. You could easily get in 300 days of kiting which is 5 to 10 years worth for people who live in not so great places and have day jobs! SPI is great to progress - i...

LOL no, this is for a college assignment. I am writing a report about kitesurfing and some of the challeges we face like bans, danger, and problems within our own community. Trying to give a real life demonstration of the situations we encounter. Okay, HellYeah, you get the benefit of the doubt. Bu...

I smell a troll. If you are really in high school and started kiting in 2008 you must have been about 6 years old when you started. hmmm...
