Re: slingshot sst

Been there, asked the same question. There is a tiny webbing loop - by the inflation valve I think. The slingshot pump has a hook that fits it. I just added a 15cm pigtail to that loop. (Great kites, but they seem a bit obsessed with keeping all pigtails as short as possible. For example, you have t...

Re: OR razor 2011 4m

Cool - thanks for the replies.

It has a "roll-over" bridle design, with a mini 5th. Should I just ignore that and use a single-line flagout?

Re: Hands free foiling?

Yes, Peter Lynn kites did that, ARC and later models - they went up to 12 when left "alone" :D Can anyone tell if the newer ones do the same? Could be great for hydrofoil surfing indeed :thumb: 8) PF Arc nerds called this "auto zenith".The later models managed to reduce this effect so that the kite...

Visibility of low-volume strapless board

I've got a low volume board that I ride strapless. It sits so low in the water it can be very hard to see - especially when looking towards the light. I'm sure it would be fine with a couple of brightly coloured footstraps, but strapless it is pretty much invisible in some conditions. I thought abou...

You can safely move to C pulley line onto a knot on the rear main to extend Z.
What I'm talking about here is the other way around: moving Z onto a knot (that already exists) on the C pulley line. Looks harmless, the knot is already there, and it only changes Z.

speed 3 mixer question

Just noticed that the c sparepart line has a knot near the bar end where it meets with Z. What is the purpose? I was wondering whether to larkshead z to that knot to lengthen z a bit. The kite is fine and stable but one needs to pull some trim in all winds. (I wondered whether it should have been at...

Re: Mod a pump with a high pressure setting?

I'd never bother with a pump with a plastic shaft. I'm not talking that cheap. Just talking about the previous generation of pumps.

You assumethat what you can buy on amazon is what the rest of the world can buy, but it aint so alas.

For europeans: check out pumps at Decathlon!

Re: Mod a pump with a high pressure setting?

Er.. that pump only has one mode doesn't it? Edit: I had to read reviews to see that it has a valve. Not seen that in a cheap pump before. But I like your low tech idea of a simple bung. Will try that on an old pump. You don't need a fancy valve, all you need is a hole at the top and a plug. Open th...
