Re: How to self land core sensor pro bar

1)It's a bit too much wind to be self landing in that fashion to begin with
2)C-shapes don't self-land too well, especially in stronger winds
3)There's nothing preventing you from walking all the way to the split and doing what you usually do

Re: Ozone vs Core

If you listen to someone who's living is derived from "brand X's" sales (or they wish it was), you can easily recognize it. GraemeF is good example of someone who will tell you everyone else sucks, but my stuff is the best. If you take advice about gear on this forum, don't take it from someone who...

Re: quiz for armchair kite designers

Also, it seems to me that even a few inches of difference between front line lengths don't affect LEI flight characteristics much. I used to have kites which had a few adjustment knots on both rear and front pigtails and on a few occasions I've actually managed to use different knots on front lines...

Dan, while we're at it - does CS Freeride come with a different spreader than other models (Vertex, Apex)? It looks a bit more compact - or it might just be me...

Re: Foot straps and foot injuries

Could it be just strain? Something similar happened to me quite a few years back: first day of a kite trip (after a couple of months of nothing), I went out while it was a bit too light with a board which was a bit too wide (like 47cm wide) in fairly choppy conditions. By the time wind picked up and...

Re: Pulleys on kites

This industry is driven by beginners, fifth line haters and marketing hype followers. If it wasn't, all Ckites and open Ckites would be flown on five lines. I suspect it is more difficult to decrease bar pressure with bridle on a Ckite because the wings are square and close behind the nose so you d...

Re: Pulleys on kites

To understand how pulleyless system give you less bar pressure do this exercise. Look at the five line kite from the side. Front lines are behind fifth line, right, so they hold certain amount of load even before you touch the back lines. Look at the side of the pulleyless bridle. Do you see how th...

Re: Who knows of a harness that will pack flat?

The only problem is my harness. I currently have a Dakine C1 hard shell harness, and it is a real pain to travel with. I have to carry a separate bag for just the harness since it will not lay flat. I don't know about your waist size, but my medium Ion CS hardshell rolls quite nicely and fits into ...

Re: Kite collapsing on itself during down loop !

What is your weight pākihiroa ? Average ? Real light weight. Around 57 kg. I think I know where Peter was going with this as I was curious about your weight as well. You might simply be too light - or rather - at our weight you're flying this kite in conditions too light for that particular size an...

Re: Pulleys on kites

I had a quiver of C4-s a while back, these were really nice kites in first generations with an obvious con being a limited wind range. There were some sessions where I was constantly switching between 15m and 12m while my buddies were on 13-12m "regular" bow-kites all along without any hassle. Then ...
