I agree the power quadruples when the speed is doubled (or whatever it is) - being overpowered and getting tbagged is similar to being overpowered and getting tbagged.
This is correct for calculating the lift of a wingfoil, but does not nearly start to describe kitesurfing...

Re: 20m LEI Kites - Its Time

Board hugely matters. Kiting is a dynamic thing, we use apparent wind a lot. You are missing my point altogether. I don't necessarily want to use a door to get the best light wind abilities. I want a right sized twintip in light winds, pulled by a tractor kite. Maybe it doesn't fit your "correct" w...

Re: 20m LEI Kites - Its Time

Why not? This thread may nudge both manufacturing side and the market in the bigger kite direction. I think its a good thing to challenge status quo. From where I stand, the board doesnt really matter. A bigger kite will always mean more power. If you want more power in light winds, and maybe also f...

Re: Minibar [TM]

SO I was able to get another session on snow before ending the season and some better footage. Unfortunately the wind was suuuper light and the snow was wet from the sun giving me really poor speed. So don't expect any cool riding on this, just some nice scenery and seeing the Minibar in action. It'...

Re: Minibar [TM]

I made a new edit hilighting what you can actually see. Still I would have liked to make a better video. Maybe later, snow is melting really fast these days

Re: Minibar [TM]

Today I was able to film using a chest mounted Gopro. Unfortunately, the settings on the camera were in "manual" mode so the video turned out crap. Still, on this frame you can see me riding unhooked then letting go of the Minibar after hooking in. You can get a feeling of how fast this device is to...

Re: Minibar [TM]

I would like to add another observation; the Minibar is much closer to my body than the depower straps. This allows me to grab the Minibar without stretching out and affecting my balance and stance. So even if you could operate the depower strap very quickly, the fact that it would be slightly diffi...

Re: Minibar [TM]

minibar_3d.png For anyone interested, I added the current Minibar 3D print files here. Consider these freely available, copy, modify and use at your own will and risk. This is how it would be assembed on a Cabrinha bar. The minibar is glued with superglue or epoxy glue around the depower rope of th...

Re: Tesla Y as kitemobile?

This only happens on Autopilot and it's because you have a dirty windshield. The car will always allow you to turn off the wipers if you are driving manually. If you're on autopilot, the car needs to see what's ahead, yes? Very rarely, the car will mistake dirt for raindrops. Just run the windshiel...

Re: Minibar [TM]

Yes I was thinking more about the force separating the mini bar and main bar like a main bar trying to increase in diameter. So squeezing grip strength more than arms. I suppose if its the same than that's awesome. Ok, now I think I understand. I am also using gloves when riding and that would also...
