Re: Big boostin' kites: OR Rise vs..

Raw boosting the Crossbow beats the Rise for sure. As an all around feel good kite I found the Rise a bit better. The Crossbow feels a little more dull, slower turning and a heavier bar. It was more stable than the Rise with a much better low end a and a slightly better high end. The Rise had a good...

Re: All this flatwater with nobody to share it with.....

Awesome, the balance is restored! Posting on the internet almost destroyed this spot and ruined our scene.... people were going to start flocking to central Canada and chase our frontal systems, clog up our beaches and get access banned. I was worried but soon realized the world now knows it looks l...

Re: All this flatwater with nobody to share it with.....

Yeah usually wakestyle but took the surfboard out when it lulled down a bit. Fun for an upwind cruise. We dropped a slider in that spot last season but a storm pushed it up on a reed island and a local went out and stripped out the barrels. Plans are in the works to bring her back to life. Spot is r...

All this flatwater with nobody to share it with.....

Just wanted to show off some glass at one of our spots. Took the surfboard out to visit the birds.... the rest of the crew was downwind a kilometer or so. Pretty much glass the whole way back! It's flat everywhere, but perfect glass at 6 mins if you skip ahead

Re: Kitesurfing Knifes

That thread above is where I found this one mentioned: http://www.kayakproshop.com/Gerb_RiverShorty.html I have it secured by zip tie in the side 'pocket' where the straps feed in on the Dakine Pyro harness. All that is exposed is the nice big handle to grab. I haven't had to use it yet but I'm happ...

Re: GoPro footage - Speed runs on Lake Winnipeg

kjelleren - Brian edged me out that day too! I could only hit 57 and called it a day. Brian came in smiling with a 63. Nice to see you noticed the GT-31 GPS! Everyone should have it. thorndog - Here's a link to some nice sixsixone armor. I have the version from 2 years ago and it's great... can't fe...

Re: GoPro footage - Speed runs on Lake Winnipeg

Yeah I've had a lot of fun with the camera....

The falls aren't bad on the smooth ice... but if you pause at 1:51 you can see some spots are essentially a cheese grater. Most guys around here have body armor on when doing this kind of stuff.

GoPro footage - Speed runs on Lake Winnipeg

Here is some GoPro helmet cam footage of some speed runs on Lake Winnipeg, March 24. Only managed 54mph that night, but it was a fun sesh into the sunset. The ice is starting to move and break... another few weeks and we're on the water! Big props to Brian B with a 63 mph run this season. I managed ...

Re: Hadlow skipping events in 2010?

Toby, I almost want to spin your exact argument around and point it back your way! I think you might need to step back and see the bigger picture a bit more. I mean that respectfully! Sure some people are saying that the ONLY way the sport should go is one way or another. I'm definitely not saying t...
