Keep up the good work Rick. Your information prevents injuries and saves lives - there is nothing more valuable you could do!!!

Thanks for all the (serious) replies :-)

Any more recommendations?

Lutchi, any special place at the Algarve that you would recommend (away from any fires)?

Thanks for the help

Kite + Golf in August?

Hi there,

I have a few weeks off in August and am looking for a place that's great for kitesurfing but also allows me to learn how to play golf during the non-windy days. Any recommendations?

Thanks for your help

Wollongong Beach for beginners?

Hi guys, was thinking about going to Dubai beginning of December and - as I take my girl-friend along - would like to know if the Wollongong Beach is also suited for beginners? It looks like there isn't too much space available for drifting downwind ... And for me: Any chance that the wind is strong...

Bar Test

A lot of respect to: a) the German kite magazine for conducting and publishing such an independent test (while risking to annoy most of their advertising partners, very rare nowadays in most industries - trust me, I know) b) Toby for always trying to promote safety in this sport c) the x-shooter/Mas...

Good kitesurfing in Soma Bay, Egypt?

Have been thinking about the Sheraton Soma Bay Resort in Egypt. Does anybody know if this is a good place to go kitesurfing. I assume the winds are the same as in Hurghada, but what about the rest (wind direction, reefs, etc)?

Thanks for any help

You can buy a lot of high-tech dry suits out of Gore Text in professional sailing shops at about the same price as the Pyro. Sailing friends also say the Pyro is a rather old model compared to what they use, e.g. zipper on the back vs. diagonal zipper on the front (easier to get in/out). Does anybod...

I have a hard time finding a helmet that fits a rather long head. They are all fine in terms of perimeter (at least the large ones, 62 cm), but not deep enough so they sit much too high on my head and don't cover the ears, neck and forehead well. Can anybody help and recommend a helmet for weird big...
