Re: marathon key Florida - foiling

Thanks guys,

I'm header there next weekend, it"s probably a bit early to look at the forecast, but right now looking northerly and be bit cool. So I'll have to bring my wetsuit.

I going to bring my 9M ultra and 12M lithium. with my 134 TT and foil. That should cover me for everything but the

Re: marathon key Florida - foiling

Thanks guys, great intel! Do you know of any of the potential launch sites on the North side? would really like to scope out the lay of the land ahead of time. I didn't realize weeds would be a problem too...ha...this does not concern me for my tt or sb, but is not so great for the foil option. I'll...

Re: Firewire Evo versus Vader

I would say Vader. I ride a 5'2'' BWS Stallion (185 lbs) from 12-40+ knts. Love that board to death. Amazing in chop and waves of any size. jumps wells. I've ridden a 5'1'' vader a number of times in good conditions, its also surprisingly good in chop, and super fun to carve. I would own this if I c...

marathon key Florida - foiling

Hi guys, Heading the Marathon Key in March and want to bring my kite stuff. I have all sorts for boards and kites (TT, surf board and foil). What's the optimal set up? (assuming you can only bring two boards and few kites (my largest is 12M) I was thinking of just bringing my foil and 9m, but not su...

Re: Airush Union vs. Ultra

My current set up is 7 and 9 Wave, but looking to add a lighter wind kite option. I only ride surfboard, but not always wave riding. Was going to order a 12M wave, but locals are telling me utlra is a better choice. But what is interesting is guys around here are choosing a 9M ultra to replace a 12...

Re: KB on Lake Champlain-Burlington

There has to be a spot or two around Burlington, but Plattsburgh (Cumberland head) can be really epic. This spot works with a south or south south east. When it comes from the south and sunny you usually get a thermal, so add 10 knots to the base forecast. I almost always go when it coming from the ...

Re: How many winters does your wetsuit last?

Funny I have a 2013 O'neill psychofreak 4.5/3.5 and really love it, it's super warm. I use it 15-30 times a year and it's still in pretty good shape. The liquid welds are cracking in some areas and started to leak in some areas, like the groin, but not enough flush to buy a new suit. A matter of fac...

Re: The lightest snappiest surfboard for overhead waves?

Ha this can go on and on...everyone got their fav and there is no right answer. What I can confirm is that the Airush active carbon are very light and super strong. My cousin has the 2013 compact in this construction and while some paint chipped off it is still pretty much perfect and he rides it ha...
