Re: Oyster foot protection

Getting your toes into new socks can be slow but it speeds up with use. Wetting them down first helps. I put them on in the car or on paving to avoid sand inside them. I haven't had trouble with excess sand getting into them once on however. I don't recall having sand abrasion problems with them. Th...

He was an unfortunate young man from the US visiting the island and taking too close a look at the Rage which blew through there in recent weeks. Waves were exploding all over the place and he was caught in one such massive run up. It was a particularly violent one from the major northeaster we had ...

Re: Kiteboard Master's Competition

Hey, it was only 16 years ago. I met you there Toby, the good old days. Strangely, Florida is too cool for most kite comp's anymore, because ... I have no idea why. It is real shame too as if you have one, they will come.

Re: Gasping for breath after crash?! Breathing how to?

If breathing is coming too hard and there is an elevated risk of breathing water, you might be hitting it a bit too hard. We have lost guys who aspirated water under the wrong set of circumstances. **Does anything else you do, hard cardio result in untoward shortness of breath? If so, you may want t...

Re: Anyone back to kiting after lateral meniscus tear in knee?

I just tore mine up about two weeks ago in a nasty wipeout in high wind. Before that time both knees were in good shape unlike quite a few other areas which had been dinged by kiting, skiing and life. If I behave myself and am not particularly unlucky, I don't anticipate needing a surgery. Things sh...

Re: Torn knee ligament advice with kitesurfing

Good information in this thread, thanks for posting. Has anyone on here caused a partial MCL tear, Type II, following a bad jump landing with no board on?
