Neil Pryde NP....has the best lining for water sports in my opinion.
I like it as well and have been using it for a bit over two years. It is important the helmet fit well and be comfortable to where he will actually use it.

Re: Hung Vu, a kitesurfing pioneer, how did he help you?

Great, thank you for the input. It is hard to imagine just how little hard information we had to go on in those times for learning kiting. The drive was there along with a bunch of potholes, visible or otherwise. Hung helped to show the way. Folks are still using the information as recently as 2014,...

Hung Vu, a kitesurfing pioneer, how did he help you?

Hung Vu was an important figure influencing many in our sport. Sadly he passed away from natural causes in May of this year. I am working on an article to commemorate his work in kiting and could use some input from those who were influenced by Hung Vu. Folks who started in the early days or even no...

Re: Saved by the wrist strap

I tore both wrists badly from too many all day sessions, excessive bar pressure combined with some acute injuries. Soft tissue injuries can heal very slowly. I recommend that you don't use that wrist strap arrangement lest you cause new injuries, TBI, smashed face, etc.. It is all relative. I bought...

Re: Damaged ribs = Seat harness....help

I having been using the NP Surf Gravity seat harness with good results. I have it rigged with the Fireball spreader bar which should help to reduce the loads on your ribs.

Re: Damaged ribs = Seat harness....help

I hope the NP works for you Bob. Our style of riding may be different but I like long sessions when I can put them in, 5 to 8 hours. I used to rub a big hole in my leg in one session without neoprene bottoms with the Fusion but no problem like that with the NP. Good luck with your ribs too. Thanks g...

Re: Damaged ribs = Seat harness....help

I am sorry you hurt your ribs Bob, hope they heal quickly. I went through three Fusion harnesses over many years and never had a riding up problem with them. Try loosening the leg straps while maintaining a good tension on the spreader bar straps and see if that helps. ps - as far as solid support, ...

Re: Who was this crazy guy who kited hurricane Irma in Miami Beach?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmh-6YrI7W4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmh-6YrI7W4 This is a clip of Hurricane Irma as the eyewall passed close to Marco Island, FL. What hero's in the audience are up for kiting in this, with anything? A hurricane can be many hundreds of miles across influencing...

Re: 29 yo woman dies in Aytré / France (near La Rochelle)

RIP and strength to the woman's family and friends. It seems conditions were light, does anyone know what the gust range and relative direct of the wind? Also, was the tide high compelling her to launch close to the rocks? My translations aren't too good this time. The first kitesurfing fatality I h...

Re: Search underway for missing kite-surfer off Sandy Hook NJ

RIP, sounds like a great guy. I hope some insights come out as to what led to his accident for us to learn from to try to avoid repetition. If a drunk girl can walk up to a kiter on the beach and yank on his bar, a drunk boater can certainly misjudge an attempt to spray the kiter with water and hit ...
