Re: GoPro Head strap

To each his own. I couldn't handle the distraction of holding that thing in my mouth particularly close in for shots. Water spotting is a problem at times but not always. https://scontent.fmia1-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t31.0-8/21949853_10154877442793199_8422616733293159333_o.jpg?_nc_cat=0&oh=e48f50dfcc5e0d...

Re: GoPro Head strap

Virtually never, I always use a helmet mount with two cameras on the kite. The head mount falls off too easily for kiting. I wouldn't use a bite mount for a wide range of reasons but they seem to be popular currently. https://scontent.fmia1-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t31.0-8/26678099_10155142252283199_627086...

Re: What a wind Forcast - Hurricane Florence

I was speaking of disaster frequency, not insurance claims or cost, chances of becoming a victim or infrastructure considerations. Simply whether the US has more natural disaster events than most other countries, which it does not by this information. The US is listed as having a "Low chance of disa...

Re: What a wind Forcast - Hurricane Florence

Risk of natural disaster, the US is 45th out of 173 countries. Fact vs. perception or perhaps news coverage?

Re: 20 Years of Kiting!

I don't remember being dinged by a wrist leash but it could have happened. Yes, snap shackles, were/are dangerous being an important part of several fatalities. The first and most damning fatality that comes to mind happened to a kiter out in dangerous tropical weather desperately struggling to pull...

Re: 20 Years of Kiting!

Thanks Kenny you too, you have posted a ton of great content on here for a very long time. I recall my first wrist leash was so prone to be yanked free it was almost like not wearing one in the first place. One of the earlier kites had no instructions because the manufacturers had concluded they inc...

Re: 20 Years of Kiting!

I don't recall the VHS cassette video included with the early Wipika kites being as detailed as this Matt Pendle clip but some of the content was included. For those who haven't enjoyed the wonders of the Wipika Classic kites, this may provide some perspectives. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1SZb...
