Re: FireWire vanguard ?

I had a couple sessions on the 5-4 Vanguard. Small Southside waves in gusty holey conditions. Board feels incredible. Glides through the holes. Planes up fast. Still getting use to the wave riding. Seems to be built strong. No heal dings yet. I have it set up Quad. It feels a little skatey and loose...

Re: Rebel 2011 features and details.

Yeah I like the concept of a the new fabric they are using this year. If it holds true and the Techno Force fiber is 2X as strong. The rip stop has been a source of issues in the past with waves and UV exposure deterioration. We will see how it pans out. How did John do on the prototype? I didn't st...

Re: North Fuse .. any new info yet?

Finally had a couple days on the 7 meter Fuse. Kite has lots of low end and full depower. Only complaint I have is it back-stalls easily or over sheets on the wave face. The kite takes a lot of attention on the wave face because of this. I hope North will comes up with a fix or adjustment on this oth...

Re: North Fuse .. any new info yet?

I had a another short session on the 7 meter Fuse yesterday in Waikiki. I am really starting to enjoy the kite. Lots of low end, but does seem to turn slightly slower. On the 7 size its not really much of a issue, but could be as you go to the bigger sizes. On the smaller sizes sometimes I will rig ...

Re: North Fuse .. any new info yet?

Sorry, but the wind has been weak here the last few weeks in Hawaii. I had the 7 meter Fuse out a couple weeks ago for a couple hours. I really enjoyed the time on it and was happy with its power range and stability. I felt the 4 line setup felt really responsive. Glad to be free of the 5 line issue...

Re: North Fuse .. any new info yet?

Just unpacked the 7 meter Fuse. Glad to see you can fly it either 4 or 5 lines. Has knots and lines on the kite labeled as such. Also nice to see they a new slider pulley system (no rollers to jam and wear). No wind here right now, but the kite looks very promising. I'll post once I get a good day o...

Re: Firewire Launches Kiteboards

Last couple days be trying to work out the 5-11. Took me a bit but once you find the sweet spot it rips. Only limited by the riders ability to push it. Like nothing I felt. Feels alive. A board you can grow into instead of out of.

Re: North Fuse .. any new info yet?

Dan, I hope you guys can get a demo to the Hawaii dealer on Oahu. I'm currently on a EVO 2009 and enjoying the 4 line simplicity, but still have a thing for the Rebel. Looking to upgrade.

Re: North Evo 2010 photos

I'm over 5 lines and the associated issues. I have done my share of swims and repairs because of the 5th line. 4 lines gives me more confidence to go for it without worrying about the kite getting tangled. Also enjoy the auto relaunch of the EVO. I've been hearing rumors that they are working on a 4...
