Re: Need quiver suggestion

Either one, 2-3m smaller I would say. Whatever you like. Or try strutless if you want a change, they’re good at staying aloft when you fall, depower and drift great also.

Re: too light to drift downwind?

Change how the board floats: tape a piece of pool noodle or similar to your board near the tail or nose if you want to explore how floating more affects it, or a weight if you are willing to make it heavier. this will change the center of flotation and/or gravity of the board and foil so it orients ...

Re: best launch spot in langebaan

road to Langebaan isn't any more dangerous than other roads around the Cape Town area. You should be fine. Once upon a time on the way back to Cape Town from a long trip all the way to e bay on dirt roads (highway was closed) we stopped for a sail at main beach langebaan and of course ate at pearly...

Re: Any experience with high load jumping using a "kite foil box"

I would think you would want m8 screws, and to be sure the top part of the mast was a true monolithic carbon fiber laminate all the way through, since so much more load would be put on the screws and thence into the inside of the mast, without any front or rear walls to the box. It would also be a b...

Guesstimating the cost of all that gear at $5-7k, I’d wager you’re not a financial pro. Wouldn’t be mine at least, if 3-4% is nothing to you...

Re: DIY short surfboard leash\tail?

If you have an old surf leash just cut the PU leash part and use the webbing Velcro attachment part for your handle. If not, get some hollow/tubular webbing and some paracord. Tie a loop in paracord and insert the knotted end into the hollow webbing, then tie an overhand knot in the webbing with the...

Re: Convertible challenge

My first few boards I didn't worry about this, used cheapest decent glass and little carbon, but now there is a lot more specialized fabric available and affordable.
But still not $3-5/yard.
Then carbon was super expensive with gulf war and boeing production ramp up... ...yeah i'm getting old(er).
