Re: Foiling behind a boat

interesting to see such a difference. Wonder about the riders weight And he was actually staying on foil with control so slow? I thought the foil wouldn’t even lift until 6-8mph. That’s how it is with me at 80kg at least. Stable flying usually needs more speed on top of that. I suspect my speed read...

Re: Foiling behind a boat

Speed definitely a little more than for wakesurf, for me and some friends last year it worked about 14-18mph. Depends on rider weight etc.

Re: Strutless kite review Gong vs Cloud

I’d like to try gong but 4 years of clouds make me skeptical about adding a pound of weight and reinforcements that aren’t needed. The price is ok though so why not try one... The clouds do seem like the price could drop 10-15%. I was one of the first customers but the price has kept me in the used ...

Re: Cloud vs Reo.

Perhaps the guys with clouds did not have the right size?
Normally you want 1.5 sizes less than normal leis. i.e. Saturday I was decently powered on a 9m c2 when my lighter weight friend had a 12m switchblade up.
At 80kg I can use 7m with surfboard from 18 knots, 9m from 14, etc...

Re: Airex/carbon kiteboard build

When considering dynamics of concave and convex shapes you also need to think about how much a change in angle of attack or angle of heel moves the center of lift. Some shapes will help keep the center of lift from moving as far, others may exaggerate the movement, so which shape to choose affects f...

Re: How to build a bar? Just the rod/pole item ~60cm. Anyone done it?

foam corks at each side of the hole (just keep 5 to 10mm more than the center hole diameter) drill only one side ... I’d go for 25-30mm each side if I did this. Also might add extra wraps of carbon or glass around outside near hole. Both would help to take beatings from safety releases, stress conc...
