Re: Moses Quality Control is ... you decide

Everyone has their rights to prefer one over the other, I hope you end up enjoying what you have. I don't dispute that it's not perfect, and all these foils are pricey enough to want the best you can get. P.S. if you are interested in some more high end stickers for your gear I can work you up somet...

Re: Moses Quality Control is ... you decide

They are selling composite parts, probably on a 5% net at the end of the day. They are not selling the carbon girlfriend experience. Moses maybe makes an extra 1% on the SS branding, or maybe just extra volume. Slingshot does essentially give you a bunnyranch special for the same shit for an extra 2...

Re: Ketos: Is one-bolt mount strong enough?

I think the key to KF box including ketos and others is to have a strong reinforcement of the connection all the way through the board and use a big, thick washer -40mm or so. I don't own such a foil but have some envy of their good looks, weight and performance. Since I am good at discovering sandb...

Re: Another DIY foil

About the washout/reduced AOA at tips: Since the foil is almost always ridden heeled a bit to windward, you really don't want your lift distribution to be unbalanced when the inevitable tip stall/breach/ventilation happens. It could possibly cause a capsize/hinge motion crash, the kind that send the...

Re: Converting surf board

I just meant like what a previous poster “mopman” did to mount his foil. Looks like nut inserts embedded in plastic/resin. If the board is heavy glassed, a few more layers of patches and inserts mounted in strong resin/milled fiber columns that go all the way from bottom skin to deck should work. Wh...

Re: Converting surf board

Now I get it, tiny surfboard in "golf bag" type of bag must be what you are doing. Sounds like your board is a candidate for a mopman style conversion. I would love to see pictures of the board or brand/model etc. By the way in case anybody doens't know this, international flight board bags are usua...

Re: Why pro-riders move the hip forwards?

Science: it's because racing kite hydrofoils causes previously silent windsurfing genes to be expressed ;)

Re: Converting surf board

If the board is a heavy/strong one it may work, get someone with experience to do it. Will need heavy stringers and/or lots of glass patches plus through holes or inserts. If board is light it will probably not feel as good and have a risk of breaking. I have a light surfboard I kite with some but w...
