Re: Moses 2018

I got meine second hand and I sold it on for someone else to learn on. So, got resold twice This is the upside: Growing the market without risking the reputations of the high performance niche manufacturers. Personally I am glad I bought a foil that leaves growing room and more performance options ...

Re: Slingy & LF taking competitor wings

Other examples of how it works: Levitaz is a spin-off or branch of a larger engineering firm, thats' why they have the type of metal fuselage they do. Ketos, too, has a relationship to a larger manufacturer, but a composites one, hence little metal in their products. Ketos is still a top quality, sm...

Re: Ride Engine Rib Jab

Had similar with various harnesses sometimes including a 2017 engine. Usually depends on what I’m wearing and perhaps if my weight is up or down a few pounds that season. Sadly it seems more of an issue when I drop a couple of pounds! But if I put the engine on well It’s usually, at worst, more of a...

Re: WindFoil - KiteFoil

the kitewing/wind weapon approach is very interesting with foiling. kitewing on water was something I wanted to explore years ago, but on correspondence with others who have done it, it required lots of wind, and the kitewings very often broke their wingtips when crashed. A better construction or mo...

Re: Stem Cell Treatment for Shoulder?

...and there are lots of technologies now that are better and not so relevant to the 1990s-2000s fetal stem cell issues and political dramas. The approaches that use the patients’ own stem cells instead of some others are more appealing for many reasons. But applications are still somewhat limited, ...

Re: fastest free ride hydrofoil?

A friend's standard size slingshot hoverglide kitefoiling wing I rode last year had little carbon in it, or at least did not seem to have much fiber of any kind near one wingtip, which broke (replaced on warranty). Not sure about the replacement, it's in one piece still I believe. Another friend's s...

Re: Lighter fuselage for Slingshot Hoverglide?

Looking into this last year I found the screw spacing is about 50mm on SS mast. I have a zeeko and thought of adapting it, to get a cheaper mid length SS mast. The zeeko spacing is 48-ish if I recall. I have seen pictures of fuselages in which one of the holes in a fuselage is milled out to a slot i...

Re: fastest free ride hydrofoil?

If you want a bargain that will go faster and hold up, zeeko aluminum will do 30 knots with the smaller/standard wing, 25 knots with the larger carver wing. carver is g10, standard wing is molded fiberlglass/resin, very tough. There are a few floating around the used markets online, and new ones are...

Re: Zeeko Spitfire Hydrofoil

Re: foil breach recovery, I don't have a spitfre, but have been impressed how well my zeeko carver wing resists crashing when it breaches slightly. I often ride it pretty high over light chop (20-40cm) with rather frequent momentary wingtip or tail breaches - all I notice is a slight drop in lift fo...
