Re: Hatteras to get another new bridge......this one sucks.

I was in Pappy ln, Rodanthe the first week of June. Construction has begun. The grading of landing for bridge is between Pappy ln and the small marina to the south. The sound was untouched as yet. The bridge will effectively wipe out reasonable use of all sound use from there northward. It is so sa...

Re: Strappless or Strapped for Learning to Foil ??

Safest=no straps. Quickest learning= straps or hooks. Also depends on foil weight and length. If heavy then timing of water start is much harder without straps. That was my personal situation: strapless with heavy sinking hoverglide. But I wanted safest pathway. If I had to do again, I would put a s...

Re: Weight of the Groove Skate

Fragile! Like a major Italian award! Congrats on the score! The performance and fun factor is huge. I have not weighed mine because I know what light feels like and this does not need to be any lighter. Seems to be spot on for size and weight and design. When a foil board makes you want to try any a...

Re: Dwarfcraft 3’6” vs Groove Skate

I do think that these pocket boards have so much to offer. That, combined with a significant market of intermediate foilers looking to upgrade are going to overwhelm suppliers.

Select and order soon. Just sayin

Re: Kanaha Shapes review and other intermediate musings

Big sky, The move for me from medium/large Dwarfcraft 54 to a short board was incredible. This freedom of extra swing weight, ball and chain, unnecessary equipment is so liberating. Allows moves to happen with so much more finesse and ease. I’m currently on the grooveskate and it’s incredible. But I...

Jumping=new love of my life!

I’m 3rd season into foiling, getting 50% tacks etc and always strapless, never rode straps. Yesterday tried straps and first time on Moses 550 (have been on 633), 71cm mast with 12m airush ultra in 10-15mph. I’m 90kg. That wing is crazy fast up wind! So fast I initially thought I would have to aband...

Re: Sitting on foil

Thanks for help. I like that concept of having hand support at right moment to allow for adjustment of body. I’ll try tomorrow!

Sitting on foil

I started trying to get to sitting position while on strapless foil. First time I nailed switch of position and rode for a short bit before exploding (from laughing mostly). My further attempts were +/- Almost a random act and sometimes the timing was so off the foil started rising so fast it was ne...

Re: Shoulders Forward?

Agree with hands free launch. Possible with lower volume pocketboards. Quite neat and easy to learn as stated above. Keeps you riding right away as opposed to messing with board and position, etc. Even with missed tacks where I land on my back, I can just keep rear foot on board and with right press...
