Re: How to Sit on a foil

I agree with K-Roy. Front hand replaces front foot in very quick motion. I crouch down low as can, then sink front with front foot pressure and time it so foil goes into small size chop and ever so towards windward. Get front hand on board then all is balanced from that point, allowing quick adjustm...

Re: 2019 Duotone Click Bar

I agree that lines on click bar are inferior. They are sooo sticky.

The lines on RRD bars are so smooth and superior.

For the price of click bar, this should be corrected. IMHO

Re: Poll: Underpowered or Overpowered

A few years ago I spent an entire season rigging for #2 mostly TT and some SB. This was so a good focus on really learning how to fly the kite. To maximize its potential by learning loops in all kinds of conditions. I think that pathway should be practiced by all. These kites are sooo expensive I wa...

Re: How small is too small?

Interesting. I’ve been on Onda setup this session and foresee a shorter fuselage and smaller stabilizer for next development.

Maybe I’ll try a 330 or 325 stab and see what results....

Re: Moses 2018

Dave K,

I used Brian Camet (California) for Moses gear and he was fantastic.

Easy recommendation, and the Moses gear is the bomb!

Re: Cloud vs Reo.

How is the Reo as far as lift overhead as it passes through zenith?

I fly Neos coming from RRD religion as I found the Neos had that extra lift that has helped in transition maneuvers.

Re: Moses 2018

I found that 91 is optimal unless in shallow water- like Hatteras sound. There the 71 was spot on. The trade off is less upwind efficiency and less room for sitting maneuvering. There was a very direct feeling of me to the foil with the shorter mast making carving a true joy. I haven’t gone back to ...

Re: Sitting on foil. So fun!

When I get sitting, both feet are off to same side. But then I very quickly get one to each side, so straddling board. The upwind leg is bent at knee with foot on center of board. The leeward leg is mostly outstretched and is used to adjust pitch by bending or extending knee. Also my upper body is us...

Re: Sitting on foil. So fun!

Ok. So some think this is sooo easy, but I don’t see others doing it. And as a working guy that needs my health and blood to stay inside my body, it was a little daunting task to sit. Now I’m past that and having so much fun sitting and carving, gibing, etc. btw nykiter(?Brad). Waves by Hoaks restau...

Sitting on foil. So fun!

I’m a few sessions into sitting on foil and today was breakthrough. 18-26mph riding grooveskate pocket board on Onda 633 9m and then 7m Neo kites. It’s like an amusement park ride! Crazy fun and funny at same time! Waves on Lake Erie got to 6 feet and that was soooooo fun. It’s amazing the breakthro...
