Re: How To Self-Land a Kite in High Winds

#Ouch! If that's your digit, then hope it healed in an ok fashion. Serves as a good reminder when feeling complacent. I agree about touching the lines when kite is flying, I have occasionally given the top line a quick pull if the wind is light enough, but there are times when I shouldn't have. We l...

Re: How To Self-Land a Kite in High Winds

In that kind of wind I’d try this first (especially if kite is still dry and you don’t want a birds nest):- Assuming you have a good-sized area of beach – for plan B below, just in case! – Bring kite to side of window on the beach about 3m off the ground, steer the kite hard to the ground and immedi...

Very Lightweight TT board sleeve/cover

I’m looking for and extremely light TT board bag. Nothing padded just a sleeve with a handle would be fine. I want to use it for my split travel board as a separation cover when packed, then as a carrying bag when assembled. Board is 140 X 44 (It splits down the middle into 2 pieces, each 70cm X 44c...

Re: Cabrinha Radar vs Slingshot Rally

+1 for this. If you can, look at a cabrinha and Slingshot side by side (with an engineering hat on) also what feels right in the hands, design and quality. Think about how you'll use it, type of valves etc. - then make your choice. Both will enable you to progress well, but one may make you feel bet...

Re: Concept X Ruler Spilt board - Review

Where do you see the weight of the board advertised? I made no reference to it. I do have an issue with the bag weight to what is advertised though. Agree heavier board rides very well. They may have advertised the weight of the deck only, without pads. Anyway there's nothing wrong with heavier boar...

Concept X Ruler Spilt board - Review

I finally took the plunge after weeks of looking around to get a split board. I have travelled with gear for many years and I have found a full-size bag can be a pain, especially with coach car park transfers, taxis, car rental etc. Also, my wife sometimes will take it ahead of me if travelling sepa...

Re: Wear on surf bootie sole

I've worn wet shoes for over 25 years and haven't suffered from what you describe. Yes I get some sharp shell cuts, but it's usually the pattern that wears so much that they become slippery. More noticeable on a windsurf board. I've been a fan of Neil Pryde shoes as I like the fit. Even if the patte...
