Re: Any paragliding pilots around here?

I took a tandem paragliding ride at the Torrey Pines Gliderport (near San Diego, CA, US) and it was fun and seemed pretty safe with the strong wind coming in off the ocean and hitting the cliffs and going straight up. It was a beautiful view along the coast.

It was a great way to experience PG.

Their web site looks fine at: https://www.northkiteboarding.com

And there’s a North advertisement running on this site today, so they must think the forum can help (or hurt) their sales.

Re: Nobile Infinity Split foil or Split surf board for waves

You might also want to call the company directly and talk to a few employees that have used them - I’ve gotten some good information this way. From what I’ve read, Nobile was an early leader building split boards and has gotten good reviews. I don’t think you can go wrong buying one of their boards ...

Toby - Do you ever decide to take down a thread that could damage a company’s sales? If so, now might be a good time.

Re: Any paragliding pilots around here?

I read a book a couple of years ago about a guy that learned to fly a PPG, and he said he made the mistake of first taking PG lessons and it was a waste of time and money since learning the foot-launched PPG was so different than PG. He said it was better to start out taking PPG lessons. There was a...

I wish the title were different. Kind of hate seeing companies’ sales possibly hurt, if it isn’t deserved.

Re: My first long swim

I knew and instructor that clipped a short bodyboarding flipper to the back of his harness as a backup, to help him swim, after he had an equipment failure and a long swim in.

That’s great news! Thanks Flysurfer!

I’ve been missing Chasta’s old videos and I’m looking forward to watching the new ones.

Re: Extreme itch due to wetsuit? Fresh water? red dry blotches..

Sulphur allergies can be a problem with contact on rubber and glues used in wetsuits (sulphur is used in the production of rubber, glues, also plastics). Benadryl pills, cream, or roll on liquid can help stop itching.
