Re: Zeeko Spitfire Hydrofoil

I've been riding the spitfire for almost a year now. I've been so inspired by this hydrofoil I wrote a 2200 word review on my blog. If you're on the fence about buying one, I'd say do it. Be prepared to not want to ride any of your other boards again once you start on the spitfire. The feeling you g...

The ultimate shuttle/downwinder vehicle Electric Fatbike$499

There have been so many time I've run my own shuttle to do a down winder with a normal bike at Hatteras to have a huge wave session with my Psycho 4s and then been stuck pedaling back upwind in 30mph winds with a kiteboard stuck to my back. It sucks. Over the last 6 months I have been ebike obsessed...

Re: New Sites on the Tug Hill

I think the best way to get the DL on the kite spots is to make it to the Festival and support Jan and Bob and get your free map. The sites change every year and we get more and more spots to ride. It was pretty awesome this year, really liked the field at the end of Killenbeck Rd. Might go back tom...

Re: Redundant kite suicide leash release system for land/sno

It's the simplest system I could come up with. 4 ft of amsteel, loops at both ends, one end larksheaded above the depower strap, the other end through the bar and down at the chickenloop hooked to a shackle on a climbing harness. I can't think of a system that could be any simpler and still accompli...

Re: Redundant kite suicide leash release system for land/sno

No this system bypasses the chickenloop, depowerstrap and chickenloop line. It is only used when one of the three things (or harness) fails. I don't trust my harness, I have had the side straps rip off and the ass rip in half and completely come apart when riding (on water never on land). Also who w...

Redundant kite suicide leash release system for land/snow

Redundant kite suicide leash release system for land/snow kiting I setup a new triple release system on my 19 and 15 meter kites which works like a suicide leash and keeps you from dropping like a rock in the event of harness, spreader bar, chickenloop, chickendick, chickenloopline or depowerstrap f...

Trip report for Tug Hill 2011

Tug Hill snowkite festival 2011 If I had one word to describe my experience at Tug Hill this year it would be ‘Epic’. I rode for about 14 hours over the course of 3 days, most of the time in foot deep powder. I drove up Friday after work to meet Zebulon ‘Crab Nebula’ at Deer River Farm. The winds we...

Re: The Safety Topic: please post your experience and advice!

Board Leashes are pretty dangerous. You can make a ghetto Gojo out of a $1 floaty that cuts your body dragging time in half for board retrieval. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rvIRMzwIteM I know that kiteboard does not even look like its worth the $1 to save it ... but it rides a lot better than it ...
