Re: Speed board design

Nice looking boards b1-kiteboarding,
Hope you don't mind me asking, but what rocker line have you found works best? Also your experience's with flex, concave and flat bottoms and your prefered stance width.
If it's too top secret maybe pm me. Thanks. :)

Re: Speed board design

Hi Guys, These are my 2 speed boards I made. Both have two 6mm plywood sheets glued with epoxy, one finished with 6oz carbon top and bottom, the other with two 5oz fiberglass on bottom and 1 on top. Measurements are 147cm x 29cm, stance is 53cm . The carbon board has 2mm of con cave flatning out in ...

Re: Do non-pulley SLE/Hybrid kites exist?

I don't know about you guys, but I'm getting tired of dealing with pulleys and replacing bridal segments. My Naish SLE has 4 pulleys. I have had one bridal break while kiting and just caught another bridal segment that would have no doubt snapped had I not done my regular bridal inspection prior to...

Re: Genetrix Hydra V3 12m 2008....TOTALLY AWESOME Top End

Could you comment on how difficult is the waterrelaunch compared with other kites. For direct experiences: Hydra 2007 have a very big BUG in that. It has a drammatic relaunch behavior. In ligh wind is about impossible to relaunch easily. In strong wind the drag of the kite, caused from the back dir...

Re: Genetrix Hydra V3 12m 2008....TOTALLY AWESOME Top End

Hi Youtch, Sorry no vid of Hydra water relaunch, but will try to do one sometime. Regarding the LE down kite facing into the wind water relaunch method I described in my previous post, I meant to say pull on the front lines. (I have edited the post) Hi Released, Great to hear you luv these aw...

Re: Genetrix Hydra V3 12m 2008....TOTALLY AWESOME Top End

Hi Youtch, I will admit I'm not looking forward to dropping the Hydra in the waves and things look like they could get messy, but may not be as bad as it first appears. I know of 2 cases of a Hydra down and flipping over and relaunching ok and another one down in surf relaunching inverted and was ab...

Re: Genetrix Hydra V3 12m 2008....TOTALLY AWESOME Top End

Hi rikyboard80, Regarding the light wind performance of the Hydra, it depends a lot on the quality of the wind and water movement. I weigh 65 kg and was able to stay upwind in 6 - 8knts on still water (no currents etc) with the V3 12m and a 160x40 ply board, but the wind was unusally very solid and ...

Re: Genetrix Hydra v3

Hi Cavamondo,

Have not tried the Hydra unhooked and don't know anyone who has, but it has minimal back stalling, is very stable and has good 'pop' off the water so may be ok unhooked.
I might get the chance to try in the next few days if conditions allow. :P
