Re: kiting with a bodyboard???

Yeah, 13 daze. I was thinking more for standing on though. I figure it can:t be that much different to a skimboard...who knows though It has a bit of floatation, the new ones are super slick on the bottoms, and with two or more stringers it should be strong enough fo rmost things. we:ll see I guess....

kiting with a bodyboard???

Hi, I've been kiting for years, and have used a TT, a skimboard, a surfboard, and even a SUP. I like using a surfboard with a kite since if the wind is no good, you can just paddle out. Unfortunately, travelling with a surfboard can be expensive with airlines. SO, a bodyboard came to mind for travel...

Re: For all Ovando guys.....

Interesting...I've never had any problems launching the little 7m in winds above 15knots. The kite on it's back with the leading edge away from me, I've been successful just pulling the front lines until the leading edge is facing up and it takes off. Once it had the lines go under and flipped over ...

Re: Youri Zoon "Recorded"

Yeah,

Youri rips. It's a shame the wind was too light to see him really ride when he came to Japan. Nice guy.

Next time go to Okinawa Youri! MUCH better wind/water and riders. lol.

Re: For all Ovando guys.....

I'm a bit heavier than you at 195-200lbs. I only have the 7m now. I had the 11m and felt it was just a bit too big for my liking. The 7m however is freaking awesome. It feels like a trainer kite. It doesn't like super gusty winds, but I had no problem with it in the gusty gorge so it's not bad, it j...

Re: Lightwind showdown : Zephyr vs. Ovando

Woah, Panchito...no need to get on the defensive. No you never said it did quite as well, but your title says "lightwind showdown: Zephyr vs. Ovando" It implies that you had an actual showdown with a Zephyr and Ovando...which seems like it didn't happen. No biggie. I just hate it when people over hy...

Re: Lightwind showdown : Zephyr vs. Ovando

Hmm, I fly and own an Ovando kite. Yes, they have good power for their size, but no I don't think a 9m Ovando can keep up with a 17m kite. Come on Panchito...I know you're excited, but people will be turned off if they think it's just hype. :-? For the record, my 7m has the power of about a 9m...the...

Re: weight / projected area = onepossible light wind indicator

Panchito, The Ovando has awesome power per sq m, but is not an uber light wind kite imo. It is very heavily built, which is great for construction, but in uber light wind that doesn't help it. btw, I love my 7m, but found the 11m too heavy for really light winds. Different topic really, power...

Re: 2010 Rebel 14m?

Cool, thanks. I'll have to check one out if I can then. Loved that depower on the bar and light weight of the kite. How's the new suicide set up working?
