Re: What do you people think about Vans Pro-Tec Water Gear?

I think the Pro tec gear is already pretty nice. That said, how about offering the option of some speakers for mp3 players(water proof of course) like your snowboard helmets offer...? Another nice option would be some type of small compartment somewhere that is big enough to fit a car key(for those ...

Re: CONSIDER LAUNCHING UNHOOKED? Can you really do it?

I am a beginner, and this might be a stupid question/suggestion, but would it not be possible to hold the chicken loop with one hand, and control the bar with the other hand thereby allowing you to fly the kite in a depowered state until you reach the water's edge. Then you would obviously grab your...

Re: Ocean Rodeo - Rise 16M Review

You forgot to mention that the kite comes with 2 different attachment points for each line letting you dial it from a top end freestyle machine to a slower turning more beginner friendly kite in case you want to use it for teaching or whatever. :thumb:

Re: What kite for really gusty conditions?

Funny how everyone has a different opinion, :naughty: but I have heard really good things about the new 2008 Ocean Rodeo Rise Venturi's. And people who have used O.R. kites say they are the best built and bombproof kites on the market, plus they are affordable. If you haven't heard, the Venturi has ...

Re: US/Global recession and kite sales?

Ya it was kite only. Maybe someday I will buy the newest gear, but for me buying gear with a season of reviews and opinions on it for half price also has its advantages! :thumb: That said, the new Naish designs seem interesting, but perhaps we are hijacking this thread... :)

Re: US/Global recession and kite sales?

I bought Ocean Rodeo Rise 12m(2007) and a Lightwave Tsunami(2007). Yes it was the closeout sales I took advantage of in the fall. There were some absolutely sick deals. 400 bucks for a Eclipse Thruster10m for example! Actually I just checked and there are still some great deals at some places on 200...

Re: US/Global recession and kite sales?

Glad you guys are talking about this as it is something I have been wondering about for a while now. I don't really have much to add to the topic other than I don't think that Best is the only company trying to provide good deals. When I first started buying my kit I thought that they were the way t...

Re: Helmet & Impact vest: What ones to use?

Hi everyone, 1st post! I want an impact vest with built in harness that also can float...Seems like a hard order to fill. I have only really noticed the Dakine impact harness and the Prolimit to supposedly have float... I was looking on the web at the Prolimit impact vest/harness that is also suppos...
