Re: Where to kite in Caribbean ?

It's pretty tough to beat Cabarete for kiteboarding, it has good wind, waves, there are flat water spots and plenty of other kitesurfers around.

Summer and winter are best months, spring and fall are still ok.

Re: May 28 to beg June 2015 - need recommendations!!

Pretty tough to beat Cabarete 1. easy access from Atlanta GA, (direct flight) - S.East,USA not sure anyone has direct from Atlanta, but Cabarete connects via miami and new york 2. relatively inexpensive travel and accommodations Cabarete and Dominican Republic is among the cheapest in the Carribbean...

Re: Banda Aceh Sumatra

Amazing place. Went there about 20 years ago, biked from Medan through the national park.

Back them it was very undeveloped, and the scene was a little intense. Definitely no drinking or party scene.

Gorgeous country though.

Re: good wavekite spots in the Caribbean?

Bahamas (out by surfer's paradise) has waves and wind, but not as consistent as Cabarete. It's pretty tough to beat Cabarete.

Puerto Rico is also an option.

Enjoy!

Re: Looking for kite location in Carribean near/at a resort

Punta Cana is a gamble on wind, when it goes off it's great place to kite. Cabarete on the north coast has better wind.

Lots to do in both places.

Enjoy!

Re: Beginner spots, Malaga / Marbella

The south of Spain near Marbella doesn't really have much in terms of 'beginner' spots. It's pretty much intermediate to advanced kiteboarding, and amazing.

Re: Caberete - Where to stay?

I'm planning a trip to Cabarete with a few friends, can anyone recommend where to stay? I'm thinking we'll avoid all inclusive resorts. Is KiteCamp any good? http://www.kitecamp.com/lodging/kitecamp-cabarete.html Key things i'd look for: - good location (near the beaches) - a good place to meet oth...

Re: Cabarete roommates?

you won't have a problem finding room mates once you are here. there's a couple local forums that you can post on, and you'll meet people quickly. there are a lot of single travellers looking for longer term places to stay. enjoy your trip! extreme cabarete kite beach, cabarete www.extremehotels.com

Re: Where to go kitesurfing late June to mid July

I am a beginner kitesurfer looking to go on vacation for 10 days late June to early/mid July. What are some good locations to learn for beginners? My only criteria would be that the windsurfing locations be near some hotels. Cabarete and the North Coast of the Dominican Republic is blowing the dog ...

Re: where for 3 months?

Wich other destinationare you speaking? east or west from cabarete? About 30 km east of Cabarete is a bay with a reef and totally flat water. West side of Gaspar Hernandez. People don't really travel to kitesurf in Cabarete, they get lazy and tend to only go right out front. IF you're willing to dr...
