Sector 60 V2 or Venturi?

So a little on the fence about what to get. Looking for something to ride in light wind and do some racing. At this point not sure how much racing. Would prefer to have something that is easy to handle but still fast. Anyone have experience with these? Also, any idea of ship dates for the Airush or ...

Comparison of Airush Sector 60 (or similar) w/ a race board?

So looking at possibly picking up a lightwind/race board for this summer. Trying to get a feel for the advantages and disadvantages of a sector type board (race cruiser???? maybe) and a true race board. Would a sector type board be more versatile and easier to ride? How competitive would a Sector ty...

Re: Which helmet to buy?

Take a look at whitewater helmets. I have both WRSI (my usual kite helmet) and Sweet. The WRSI is affordable and works great, I've taken some good hits kayaking with it and I've been really impressed with the impact absorbtion. It's held up well for a few years now, they've also got some new models ...

Re: kite knife

I've got a Wenoka (sp?) dive knife in a hard plastic sheath on on LF Luxury harness. I've got the sheath attached to the straps for the hook. I just have to slide the knife on the straps while tightening it up. Haven't had to use it yet, but wouldn't bet my life on a little crappy hook knife. Find i...

Bularoo - Leading edge battens needed?

So I spent the last couple of days flying my Bularoo 16m, noticed that multiple leading edge battens are bent and/or broken. Kite seemed to fly fine and the shape looked normal to me. Do these really make that much of a difference in the flying characteristics of the kite? Just wondering if I should...

Re: What Bag?

What are the dimensions of the LF golf bag? I've got a WLF 140 that I need to fit in it. Anyone used one yet?

Re: Liquid Force release danger ('07/'08)-replacement available

I just emailed LF this afternoon about getting two replacement release sliders for my bars, they responded within 20 minutes and said they would get them right out to me. I was impressed with the quick response.

Re: Rails for strip built core?

Bill,

Thanks for the response. That was the way I was leaning for the rails. I think you're right, get the core built and then assess the need for glass. It will be a little while before I get this project rolling but I'll keep you posted when I get into it somemore.

Rails for strip built core?

So this is a continuation of my previous post about strip built cores. What should I use for rails? Wrapped glass? ABS/PVC? Just seal the wood core with epoxy and poly and use the wood core as the rail? Probably using one layer of 6 oz top and bottom with a finish layer of 1.5 oz on top and bottom. ...

Re: Strip built core?

Thanks for all the input guys. Thinking that I'll probably go with a 12mm core thinned at the tips and edges and probably go with a layer of 6 oz and 1.5 oz on both top and bottom. One more question, what are your thought on rails for this core? ABS/PVC, wrapped glass rails, or just shape the wood c...
