Re: which skis do you use for snowkiting?

This is exactly why I started this thread. I didn't mention it above but I'm also looking for skis that look good and are not too expensive.

I'm going to see if I can get those Lightning Boards here...

which skis do you use for snowkiting?

What kind of skis do you use and what do you like/dislike about them? I need some recommendations. I'm looking to buy new skis and don't know what to look for and have no chance to test anything. Currently I'm using Blizzard twintips that are at least 5 years old. Last year I did one descent on Dyna...

Re: Cabrinha Crossbow 10 for rider of 100kg... which wind ra

I have the 2010 Crossbow 11 and I'm also 100kg. With a normal twintip it gets me from 15 to 25 knots. With a big board I can go upwind from 12 knots. Perfect kite for a 3 kite quiver: a bigger kite will get you some extra low wind days and a smaller kite is needed for really strong wind but everythi...

Re: Planning on building my first plywood Door.

My first Door was 3x4mm plywood with varnish. No rocker, no fins and lots of flex. Great board, lots of low end and even high end. But it was very heavy and had lots of spray in choppy water. So you don't need fiberglass, but if you do use it you can remove parts of the middle layer of plywood and m...

Re: Adding length to 5th line increases Rebels bottom end?

I don't have the original bar and I'm still trying to find the right setup. My experiences:

A longer 5th line will give you more power but the kite will stall more often.

Re: Better harness for skis?

I use the Flysurfer Connect Seat harness for skis. It has the same tow point as the Warrior waist harness I use for water.
It's not the best looking harness but it's good for snowkiting. It can move sideways a bit but it wont ride up.

Re: Martha's Vineyard Kiter Apology ?

from the article:
[The kitesurfer] then started to cut right in front of us parallel to the jetty about 20 yards out, a mere flick of the wrist with a No. 1 Deadly Dick.
No idea what this means, I stay away from fisherman, too afraid of those hooks.

You need to find a manual for this kite (or for another c-kite), use google.

And you need to read this manual, especially the warnings part...

Re: Offshore wind farms impact

Wasn't the rule: An object has a trail of disturbance for a length of 20 times the height.

So if the maximum height of the windmill is 150 meter it will create a disturbance for 3 km

Re: excluding unhooked riding are we in a sport ???

I did a session with a heart rate monitor in the winter. I wasn't out of breath but my heart rate was in 150-170 range. My max heart rate isn't that much higher...
