Re: OBX beach permit required

I think the permit is a good thing if the money goes back into the OBX , but the price is alittle high for a week compared to a year. I will be buying a year pass no matter what.. Alot of people don't realize that all of the OBX is a state park pretty much as soon as you turn onto Highway 12 at Nag...

Re: OBX beach permit required

From the looks of the map, you will still be allowed to park at kitepoint without a permit. Is this incorrect? Sound side kite launches in Rodanthe and Waves???

Can anybody give a brother the 411 on where to launch in Rodanthe and Waves. I'm staying down here for the week just south of S-turns. I know about all, or most anyway, the launches south of Salvo but I'd like to be able to kite close to the cottage since we've got a young'un. I found a place called...

Re: Newbie chick needs lesson in Hatteras 5/28-5/30

What's your definition of reasonable. All the lessons down there that I know about are north of 100 bucks an hour. But, you many not have to worry about it...the wind forecast looks like crap and has been looking worse and worse since yesterday. Of course, no one ever accused Ikite for nailing a for...

Re: Lost my board kiting in Hatteras.

According to Ikite the wind blew NE all day down there yesterday. I'm not familiar with the sunken barge, but Rodanthe is a clip or two south of Kittyhawk. How are you figuring on your board ending up there? Not trying to be a smart ass, just trying to figure out where the board may have landed. Whe...

Re: What quiver for 130 lbs / 60 kg?

Already have an idea of what kite you are going to buy? I've got a Flysurfer Speed 2 15m and a Wainman 12m...am getting a Wainman 9m. I figured on getting a Wainman 7m and we could share the quiver since we'll never be on the same kite at the same time. I'm mostly wondering what the range on a 7m f...

What quiver for 130 lbs / 60 kg?

My wife is showing an interest in kiteboarding. Of course I'm stoked because that means more sessions, or at least the same amount without having to deal with being, "gone so looonnnngggg." Anyway what size kites should she look at getting? Right now I've got a 15, 12, and am working on finding a 9 ...

Re: help! fixing completely delaminated OR mako

If you're even thinking about repairing this it suggests that you're at least semi handy. Check this thread out on losethestraps. Tungsten builds one out of wood and I aim to take a stab at it myself. Since you've got a Mako you can take measurements, make comparisons, and do whatever else you need ...
