Re: snow kiting - which is better? skies or board?

Use whatever you have. I snowboard, so I use that. If I could choose between either (had the equipment and knees for it) I'd choose skiing. If you are on a flat field with a few inches of snow and decent wind, then it doesn't matter. But if you are in DEEP powder, the skis are just so much more mane...

Re: Revl Arc cam: Anybody preorder one?

This camera has been in production so long that I suspect when it comes out, the image quality will be 18 months behind the latest from GoPro or others. I hope they do well, though. These startups force the competition to innovate on features and price. Has to be tough for a 10-50 person startup to ...

Re: Leading Edge Bladder tips blowing out

When you reinsert the LE bladder, you should have a good amount of extra bladder material at the tips. Don't roll it. When I've had to get in there for a repair, I fold up the bladder tips like an accordion so it can expand as needed. If you have to remove the entire bladder for some reason, it'll s...

Re: Ocean Rodeo stick shift bar

So, I read a video comment somewhere that the next generation Stick Shift bar is making it's rounds. Any tech or info on it?

Re: Board Size Question

Every spec I've ever read says that I should ride a 134 to 140 twin tip, which is what I've been on from my first day on the water. Recently I've switched to a 129 and I can't say I'd ever ride anything bigger again. Length isn't everything! Seriously, the width, shape and rocker matter just ...

Re: Ride Engine 2018 Harnesses

I finally got to try on the 2018 harness last weekend. It's very nice and much more refined from the 2016/2017 design. Seems the goal was to address some of the wear points people have noted in this thread. The Velcro is different. There is no underband stretchy thing. Both sides of the belt stretch...

Re: Slingshot 2017 SST vs 2018 SST?

I don't think there is anything significant. I had 2016s and just upgraded to 2018s. I don't notice any flight differences on my 10. I know between 2016 (first year) and 2017 they just reinforced a couple wear points that were noted. The only "new" thing I noticed it the marketing was this line; "Ex...

Re: Ride Engine 2018 Harnesses

Interesting @jaystore, thanks for your take on this. :thumb: I have to say, I didn't know if he had a patent and it sounds like he doesn't. I have several friends who have used your Jaybars for several years and really like them. I saw those well before Dakine and other manufacturers started to brin...

Re: Wetsuit itches

I have that exact problem with two different shorty wetsuits. Yet, with my NP 4/3 and my ProMotion 5/3 it isn't a problem.
I'm not sure if it is chemicals used in production of cheaper suits, or just that my shorty lets in more debris from the water that irritates, but yeah... it's annoying as f*ck.

This is a 5 year old thread.

@MSG just pinged it for new insights. Probably be better to start a new thread so this old content doesn't get quoted, false rumors spread, etc....
