Re: Wrap alu mast with carbon fiber for stiffness

dont think that this is a good idea. Alloy "works" quite a lot when temps are changing , carbon not much.
So if you put your mast from hot sun into cold water your alloy mast will "shrink" but the carbon layer not.
For me, delamination is what will happend.

Re: MHL Lift Insert Damage with Foothooks - Warning and How to Repair?

the main problem in this case is the Chinnok insert. To me it looks like the epoxy did never stick properly to the insert. Chinook inserts MUST to be cleaned with Aceton !! Even better to sand them first with a 60 grid and then clean'em with Aceton. Problem #2 is that there was no glas over the inse...

takes me around 45 minutes for a kitesurf board to to sand and polish deck and bottom.
But hey, I do this mostly very day ;-)

Re: Epoxy Gloss Coats How To

not that much of a problem to get a perfect finish coat. Every coat will only be as good as the one before, so put down a nice clean sanding coat, sand it perfect with a 80 grit, brush dust off, clean it with DNA wait 10 minutes and put your finish coat with a foam brush on. Temperature is very impo...

Re: concave deck - how much is to much?

concave decks are needed for racing, they give you more pressure on the heels = more angle and much more comfy for going upwind

Re: concave deck - how much is to much?

this board with a width of 36.5 cm has a concave of 18mm under the front foot, under the rear the deck is flat.
The first board i made for that guy had 12mm concave with 37.5 cm with.

we rent our condo at Nannny's Estate, just next (upwind) to Ultravioleta. Pump your kite in the garden and launch just in front of it.

Re: Modern Type KiteSurfboards

Tried one that looks similar to the top two. Great joke, so you tried a quad board with a pretty straight outline in tail an compare it with a thruster board with a much rounder tail outline ?!?! oohh now I see , they are equal , they have both chopped off noses ;-) Sorry but can't hear that crap a...
