Re: skimboard questions

I've built 2. Both the same length and width (~130x50) but different outlines and rocker. The ride is very different. You should decide if you want a surf skim or a flat-water lightwind machine. 1. No tail rocker, 1" of nose rocker, more egg shape with a fatter tail. Great on the flats, lightwind pe...

Re: Contour Camera's

does the Contour camera have some kind of remote to start new files or to mark a certain point on a file ? I had the Gopro but sold it pretty quick after finding out that going through all the material in order to find the "good stuff" was a bitch. You might enjoy MPEG Streamclip, free software to ...

Technically, yes it can be repaired. But why bother. Almost as much effort as shaping and glassing a complete board: http://www.boardlady.com/snap.htm

This is all you need to know, it's not confusing.

Re: Where to hook safety leash when riding unhooked?

I have the 09. I used to ride "suicide" but recently changed it up. Try clipping your leash to the metal ring on the single line safety, then also connecting the leash to the CL. If the CL release is pulled, the leash will slide off and still be attached to the safety line. Best of both worlds: you ...

Re: Do you wear fins with Boots?

I spent the last couple months riding exclusively finless. I like the feel and don't find landings to be an issue with stiff boots. However, I find you lose bite when it's choppy, so i've switched back to 0.75" fins (formerly 1.75" until they met the jigsaw and sander).

Re: DIY: Skimboard size

Almost anything works but consider what you want out of your skim. Flat water cruising you can get away with only 2cm of rocker, but if you want to ride in small waves consider more like 5cm on the nose. Middle should be dead flat. Tail rocker makes it more lively but increases drag, add ~1cm if you...

Re: thin wood cores...

Flex will be challenging. Why not use 3 layers of 1/4" cedar. The middle layer can be partially hollow, just a frame with edges and a couple stringers. Then you probably only need 1-2 layers of 4 or 6oz.

You can't claim this as your own innovation, more like borrowed technology. I appreciate the new setup, just hate the subject. Marketing bs
