Re: Cymatic (Tomo MPH) in kiteconstruction?

In regards to Firewires: I would advise not use LFT or Rapid Fire technology for kite surfing (been there done that). The fin boxes did not hold for me, same for my friend. The kite-construction is very strong, but also pretty heavy(been there done that too). I've always used and prefer the FST stoc...

Re: Bridle Tags on a Cabrinha contra 15

Not totally sure, only speculating. I've heard the 15m Contra is a sweet light wind kite and may be the best size in the Contras. :thumb:

Re: First strapless ride on a surfboard - Diagnosis?

Use the fins of the surfboard as opposed to the edge to drive upwind. 1. Weight forward with more front foot pressure. Try to keep the board flat. 2. Drive your back knee towards your front leg using your hips. 3. Keep your kite low(45 ° or <) 4. Get a rope harness. You'll have much more range with ...

Re: FireWire vanguard ?

says FST on bottom The Vanguard surfboard made in FST also has "FST" written on the bottom. Paul S., The older vanguard kite versions have Felix's signature on it. New ones no longer do(from the pics online). Best way to tell is to pick it up. The kite version is a tank compared to the surfboard ve...

Re: Duotone

Not literally anyone leaving. But a name, branding, marketing change. Throwing away an established and known name. Brand cachet is huge. Rolex and Bentley would never survive if they changed their names. Bad analogy. Rolex and Bentley are extreme examples of when people buy a product almost solely ...

Re: Directional thoughts

Good light wind directional: North Nugget or any of the Tomo shapes. In the range you stated, I use a Firewire Sweet Potato with a "Seaworthy" quad set up and a Firewire Nano(tomo) w/ a thruster setup. Both are great light wind shapes but the Nano needs a tad more wind. I also have a Vanguard(kite c...

Re: I'll have to change my name now North Kiteboarding is no more..

And......at the end of day, it comes down to performance, quality, and value(not necessarily in that order). IMO, riders buy kites that fit their riding style, helps them accomplish their goals/tricks the easiest, and that are the most enjoyable to ride. And, to keep the rider, it comes down to good...
