Re: Firewire Vader Helium

I've a 5'3" Evo in Helium kite build. Strong enough so far. So light I can't use it weigh down my kite on the beach any more. The wind can get under it easily and take it for spin down the beach. - Happened to mine, but only a couple of tumbles before I caught it. No dings or compressions... yet... ...

Re: Portugal - Guincho or Viana

Google translate - Guincho: -When the wind is strong, in general 9 or 7 m to see 5m. at high tide there is shorebreak. In the middle of the afternoon there are many people (too much). -When there is swell, the waves are much higher than a person !!! conclusion: exclusive spot for surfing experienced...

If you're not getting anywhere with the shop. Give them a choice to sort out the problem within say 7 days or get in touch with your card issuer. If it's VISA, then you have a high chance of getting your money back.

Re: 12m or 14m Slingshot Rally for 200 lbs riders ??

Being a 200lb rider, he'll have plenty of practice riding in "light wind". 12m and a big board. Less wind than that needs will just be an exercise in frustration anyway, unless you go for the specialised equipment... Agreed, the 'light winds' (for us) is 'normal' winds for lighter people. Spent man...

Re: 12m or 14m Slingshot Rally for 200 lbs riders ??

For your board size, width is better than length. I ride Shinn boards when I'm TT Use this as a good guide for their boards - https://www.shinnworld.com/whatssizedoineed If you go for a big board, you'll find some days it's too much. But, a big board will be good for when you are better and you can ...

Re: 12m or 14m Slingshot Rally for 200 lbs riders ??

I would say you would do better with the 14 for your early days. More power is helpful when your technique isn't so good at the beginning. Get a 12 when you're better and start to feel over powered more often than not on the 14, that'll be when your technique will have improved - several months The ...

Re: Mystic Merino Gloves

I have a pair of the Merino gloves. Had them two or three years now. I find them warm, even on cold days. Sometimes I can get cold fingers because I'm hanging onto the bar too tight, so cutting off circulation. I would say def worth a try, I wouldn't use them if they didn't work. Local sea temp at t...

Re: Rideengine and which spreader bar

That plastic always breaks, You could use some fine sand paper or some wire wool to smooth off the hole, then the dynema will not find a 'sharp edge'. Basically give those holes a chamfer edge and all will be good :-)

Re: Rideengine and which spreader bar

Poor hot water over the bolt/thread. This allows the loctite to soften, making removal easier.

I normally use a naked flame, but I'm worried some people might set fire to the harness, themselves, their home, other people. Don't use fire people it's dangerous :)

Re: Cape Town Visitors - Avoid killing each other

Ahooi everyone First off, a belated welcome to the hundreds of international kiters who have descended on our shores. International kiters have a tendency to all bunch together like flies on elephant dung. (50 kiters together when you have an entire bay, why?) 2.The first 50m of water is for guys c...
