Re: Ocean Rodeo: The Next Generation is now

Quick review on the 7/9.5m Roam/Stick Shift Bar: Background info: 170 lbs, 5'3" Cabrinha Spade and OR Duke, mostly all directional riding in mixed conditions (I've had onshore, side-off, and sideshore) So, I'm coming off a quiver of OR Razors which I've been on for the better part of 4 years. This s...

Re: Boosting only one way

Same - it happens, I can only back/front roll one way too. I can jump on my switch tack a bit, but only when coming into shore and redirecting the kite afterwards. I think it's pretty typical. I'm also mainly boosting in shallow water off little kickers. 28619216_10103491502503088_357542926510088231...

Re: Nosaro Costa Rica Beta

Yeah, great spot to surf, I wouldn't even think of kiting - a. you will piss off everyone catching waves if you go kiting through, b. the wind is completely offshore for the most part, c. - refer to a and b. If you want to kite, go north roughly 2 hours to Bahia Salinas, but frankly, if you are goin...

Re: Surfboard Size Poll

adamj2281, I assume the idea of this poll was to see which sizes and boards different riders use, right ? When not seeing the outline of the boards, it is almost useless. Some of them are from manufacturers - but then we all have to look them up to know which type of board they are :-? Agree, I am ...

Surfboard Size Poll

Just wondering what most people use as their primary surfboard size/volume.

I'm 6'0", 175 lbs, and I ride a pretty small 5'3" Cabrinha Spade. I like a smaller board when it comes to kiting. Harder to get upwind, but fun to slash around.

Re: Fiji - Tavarua

This is why I hate dealing with airlines. Whenever I can i ride with an airline where I have enough miles / status to get away with shit. ...or just fly Alaska They are awesome. I get that's not an option to fiji tho. The one airline I reslly hate is Hawaiian. Hooooorrrible service. Yeah, I'm prett...

Re: Fiji - Tavarua

It does not appear that Fiji Air has an exemption for golf clubs, as many airlines do. So it might be less likely that the kite/golf bag gets through (no experience with them, just my guess) https://www.fijiairways.com/flight-information/excess-oversized-baggage/ My lesson learned lately: I got cha...

Re: Fiji - Tavarua

Ok, another question for anyone who has flown Fiji Airways - I'm debating whether to take my "golf bag" or not, it's 155cm. Fiji has a linear dimension max of 168 cm, the question is - do they enforce that regularly or can I get away with a golf bag as a normal checked bag as I do with the domestic ...

Re: Fiji - Tavarua

Namotu lefts.. fun softer left.. good for sup/ longboarding especially when tide running ( can smoke surfers against current).. if wind can kite too Swimming pools( back of namotu).. usually less. Crowded fun right.. Cloudies. Works in all swell sizes! From Wilkes.. fun right hander. Can be heavy. ...

Fiji - Tavarua

So, about 7 months ago I broke my foot skateboarding (actually just stepping off a skateboard, and it was a longboard, so I barely refer to it as skateboard other than it had wheels), anyways, I was pretty bummed, middle of our kite season. The next day I got a call from the good folks at Trace who ...
