Re: How to pack a travel bag

I wouldn't worry about a twintip, it's like a snowboard it's not going to get banged up. Here's a few tips though: 1. Take the fins out (yeah no sh!t) 2. Put your harness open under the board on the bottom, it fits well, and keeps your harness from getting bent over. 3. Pack your kites at the bottom...

Grand Cayman - Barker's - Surf/Reef

I visited Grand Cayman and kited Barker's back in 2013, I loved it, one of my favorite spots I've visited. At that point, I was strictly a flat water/boosting on small bumps kind of kiter. Now, I'm more into waves and ride a surfboard 90% of the time. I'm just wondering if I visited in February, wha...

Re: Aruba January

Does your wife kite...if so, stay at Kite-Inn.com because other than kiting...there's really nothing to do on this side of the island. Kite-Inn... $80/night (cold a/c , hot shower, comfortable bed, and very clean). You can kite your tails off...it's 5mins from Boca Grandi. Arnold who owns Kite-Inn ...

Re: Aruba January

Boca Grandi has very good swells outside the reef. Pechi has opened a Beach Bar and Grill there. Twin tippin in the Boca is great too. Get over 9 kiters and it's a tad crowded but time your sessions between the noobs and you'll have a ball. 96% chance of great wind. Can't beat it for a kite-trip. C...

Re: Aruba January

Hey, I went to Aruba and kited huts 8 years ago (before the R/C was built). Anyways, I'm a pretty experienced kiter, but i want decent waves. How's Boca Grandi on the outside wave wise, I'm guessing they get some pretty good wind-swell based on the trades and exposure. Any comments, I'd take both my...

Re: Prodigy??

Nice.. that's the quiver I'm thinking....7,9.5 Prodigy then he 12, 17. Flite. Yeah, that sounds solid, I'm a big fan of orienting kite types to sizes. Before i moved to mostly all wave riding/strapless surf, I'd have a 3 kite quiver, where the biggest kite would be more light wind/all-around orient...

Re: Prodigy??

Thanks for reviews on Prodigy.. sounds like it would do the job. I just picked up a Duke and have to say it is a fantastic surfboard for me. I have owned others and nothing has come close to the smoothness of this board. Just eats chop and messy waves like no other IMO. Love it!!! Agreed, I will al...

Re: Prodigy??

I had one, and it's a good all-around kite, decent booster, works really well in gusty conditions. I've since switched to the Roams just because I'm 95% of the time on a surfboard. I've only flown the 14.5m Flite, but the Prodigy has a similar feel. I would highly recommend it for smaller sizes to s...

Longboarding/Noserider with a kite?

I've thought about this for awhile when the wind is a bit light and there's a decent little knee to waist high wave coming in, has anyone ridden a longboard or maybe thought about designing a modified kiteboard that would work for longboard style on a wave? I'm just thinking it could be kinda fun to...

Re: Ocean Rodeo: The Next Generation is now

Quick review on the 7/9.5m Roam/Stick Shift Bar: Background info: 170 lbs, 5'3" Cabrinha Spade and OR Duke, mostly all directional riding in mixed conditions (I've had onshore, side-off, and sideshore) So, I'm coming off a quiver of OR Razors which I've been on for the better part of 4 years. This s...
