Re: 2018 LF Thruster Foil

first day out on the thruster wings, and I'm a fan! They generate more lift than the happy foil and at lower speeds. the adjectives I would use are "smooth" and "stable". reactions aren't as twitchy as riding the happy foil. there's more time to make adjustments and keep it together as opposed to im...

Re: 2018 LF Thruster Foil

Here are some photos I took. I hope to take it out on the water in a couple of weeks. The thruster front wing is considerably thicker than the happy foil front wing - bigger lift coefficient? https://imgur.com/EaEXrWk.jpg https://imgur.com/u3VB05Z.jpg https://imgur.com/ktfiFK9.jpg https://imgur.com/...

Anyone else have their board tracks show deformation from hardware?

So I have a Liquid Force Rocket Foil board that I've been learning on. I've noticed though that the mounting bolts no longer slide smoothly to allow adjustments as they've dug into the plastic rails and deformed them, causing burrs. It almost seems like either the rail is slightly too wide and there...

Re: New Ride Engine harness review

Has anyone seen published numbers for the weight difference between the 3 lines? I found the hex core to be plenty stiff when I demo'd it at Hood this summer, so I don't really care about the higher end harnesses being "more stiff". I'd like to know how much weight you're saving if you go all carbon...

Re: Cartagena and Colombia for experienced kiters...

Spent 2 weeks in the area last year in February. I found the kiting to be so-so but the culture and food were excellent. We kited at Ensenada de Trebal right outside of Barranquilla as well as La Boquilla in Cartagena. There's no real infrastructure over at Ensanada. It's a bay that has a bunch of h...

Re: switch bar v3

It's not just that the bar is heavy. It's heavy to the point where the bar floats aren't effective. I recall twice in recent memory where the bar just sinks once you hit your quick release. Pretty scary to think that it could snag on debris and other obstructions on the bottom of wherever you're at....

Re: Surf Expo 2015 Videos from The Kiteboarder

All DYNABAR resellers and customers should be informed that sliding system they sell or use desn't exist because in the RideEngine video the representative states that dyneema sliding system is "pretty new technology" and the ADV in the back states "PROBLEM SOLVED ". They should have added " after ...

Re: seat harness recommendations

Rode a mystic warrior waist harness for several years but lately have been using a Dakine Nitrous harness that's integrated in with board shorts. It has the rock climbing style leg loops and is pretty lightweight. I do get some chafing on the sides though where the top webbing strap contacts the bel...
